Subsequently Drew was appointed to the Art Department of the Berwickshire High School in Duns and finally became Principal Teacher of Art and Design at Earlston High School until his retirement. He and Kathleen have lived in Kelso since 1974. Examples of Drew's work can be seen at the Coldstream Gallery, Berwickshire, and often at the Torrance Gallery, Edinburgh. I am inspired by Mackintosh and Blackadder in my floral paintings, and Edward Hopper for in architectural night scenes. I try to create a sense of clarity and stillness in my work, whether in commission or personal pieces. I am a strong believer in working from life where possible, and spend much of my free time out and about sketching round Edinburgh and further afield.
