Zinka Project: Artist Statement:
http://zinkaproject.blogspot.com/p/artist-statement.html
As a printmaker I combine various printmaking techniques to create layered monoprints which tell the stories of diverse relationships. By layering and piecing together an assortment of images and text I visualize the complexities of relationships and their range of connections. These single unique images work contextually in larger bodies of work to highlight larger narratives and/or social issues while individually telling the stories of those people directly impacted by the story. Zinka Project: Onward at OFAR
http://zinkaproject.blogspot.com/2014/06/onward-at-ofar.html
The past week has been busy, though it is interesting that I am spending about as much time in the studio as I am with the community and in various meetings with individuals. Wednesday saw Jon Henry and I at Peace by Design, one of EMU. S Summer Institute courses taught by Deanna. Giving a brief talk on my work at EMU. I've been getting positive responses to the first two parts of my project, the interviews and the workshop. Larkin Arts. The Collins Center's brochure about the projects. This project will...

Zinka Project: October 2012
http://zinkaproject.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
All the art things from every direction! Ah, it's been awhile since I updated this thing here. A LOT is going on. First in my non art life I managed to sprain my foot as well as fracture it (I didn't know you could do both at the same time but boom, there it is) while caring for my younger brother and sister on my own for a week. It's made all the other stuff going on really really interesting. The Atlanta Office of Cultural affairs Public art program. Additionally we are hosting, with Back on My Feet.

Zinka Project: Create your story workshop with The Collins Center
http://zinkaproject.blogspot.com/2014/06/create-your-story-workshop-with-collins.html
Create your story workshop with The Collins Center. So aside from the interviews I've been doing for the past two weeks, I've been prepping for the public art piece (I begin tomorrow) and also prepping for the workshop I gave tonight. Everyone seemed to have a great time and went home with multiple pieces. It was a lovely and moving experience (and everyone even helped me clean up). I'll get better at workshops eventually, I hope, and also at teaching. I am so grateful to The Collins Center. The Citrus R...

Zinka Project: Goodbye to Harrisonburg
http://zinkaproject.blogspot.com/2014/06/goodbye-to-harrisonburg.html
It's my last morning in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I've rented a car and will drive home to Atlanta from here. I'll miss this place but I'll always be an OFARian now, and it seems I may be back in October, which is pretty exciting. It rained much earlier Saturday (started around 4), so the work got washed away much faster. I don't mind however, and one person, after understanding what the project was about, said something poetic along the lines of "don't we wish it were that easy in real life." True. Things...

WonderRoot CSA Project-yay commission time! I haven't had a chance to write much about this, except in the brief timeline I posted yesterday but here's some more information about this project. I was invited by WonderRoot. To participate in their CSA, or Community Supported Ar. Here's how they explain it:. What is the WonderRoot CSA? What is the purpose? Why did we create it? How does it work? 50 shares available to the public at $300/share. Commission of 9 artists to create 50 works each. Finally, Floyd...
