And then there was the time…. Posted by: Kate The Great. May 28, 2009. 8230;I put the boyscouts to shame. Really though, I could probably teach them a thing or two about knots considering all the loose ends I’ve been tying up recently. Between it being my last week working at TMC and moving out of Apt. 29, it’s been an interesting week. A few of the highlights have included (but are not limited to):. Eating cereal with a measuring spoon because the normal flatware has already moved. Upcoming Post: And th...

And then there was the time…. Posted by: Kate The Great. July 20, 2010. 8230;we didn’t have much to say. Almost a year and a lifetime later, this blog speaks again. And what I mean to say is, an almost year and an almost lifetime later. “You fit a whole almost-lifetime into a whole almost-year? 8221; I can hear you ask. Yeah, pretty much. At least it feels like it. Small-talk. I’ll make small talk about the weather. Isn’t that how every awkward conversation begins? Of it lately and something about it jus...

Par for the Course: Date Nights Are Great Nights!
http://blakegerman.blogspot.com/2008/08/date-nights-are-great-nights.html
Par for the Course. Thursday, August 7, 2008. Date Nights Are Great Nights! So, Steph and I were supposed to make dinner at my house last night. But, I forgot to pull the salmon out of the freezer to thaw. This means that dinner would have been late, and freezer burned. So I sent her an e mail asking if I could just take her out instead. She seemed excited about it. I decided that I would surprise her. We sat out on the porch enjoying a blue moon, and just talked. Overall, our date started out rocky, but...

Par for the Course: November 2008
http://blakegerman.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Par for the Course. Wednesday, November 26, 2008. The Verdict is in! Well, after a long night of counting all the votes (from two different people, eight votes total). I determined that the results were too close to call. So, I had to recount. And what I found is that my original counting skills are sufficient enough. I should go work for florida or minnesota or something. That wasn't so hard was it. So, this crowd of meat heads is what I came to expect. The world will cease to exist as we know it. Alrig...

JukeyBlog: Investment, Not Spending
http://jukeyblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/investment-not-spending.html
Monday, February 01, 2010. Investment, Not Spending. If you are at all not sure about the concept of High Speed Rail, please please please read this post. From the California High Speed Rail Blog. I do want to share a couple of key points that Cruickshank makes that I think are really great. If High Speed Rail is not built in California it will require the expansion of highways, freeways, airports, etc. with costs much higher than the cost of HSR. It's also important to note that highways don't p...Fresn...

JukeyBlog: Change Throughout Generations
http://jukeyblog.blogspot.com/2011/07/change-throughout-generations.html
Saturday, July 16, 2011. I've thought recently about change and how age and generation can affect how one perceives change. Why do people in the older generations tend to resist change more than the younger generations? Sure the answer may just be that kids are growing and learning and therefore more adept at change, but I think it runs a little deeper. I think it has to do, in part, with Moore's Law. Answer: The average piece of printer paper, #20 weight, is 0.0038 inches (or 0.097mm). That ...In Europe...

JukeyBlog: December 2009
http://jukeyblog.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 05, 2009. I have been interested in downtown Fresno for a while now, and I have been very interested in the possibility of moving to one of the many new lofts that have been and are currently being built in the downtown core. My roommate and I finally decided to take the leap last week and we applied for and were approved to move into a 2-bedroom flat at the Iron Bird Lofts. Just this past Tuesday the first residents started moving into the lofts, check out this ABC 30 news story.

Saturday, March 27, 2010. As I am becoming more and more interested in urban planning and how it affects so much of our daily life I am learning a lot about transit-oriented development. If you have a few minutes watch the video below. This video is a short and inspiring summary of what transit-oriented development is and means to a community. Portland has done a great job in taking the issue of smart urban planning seriously and it can only help the city going forward. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

JukeyBlog: CAHSR - Fresno's Station
http://jukeyblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/cahsr-fresno-station.html
Tuesday, February 16, 2010. CAHSR - Fresnos Station. California will be getting a station as part of the high speed rail network that is planned for the state. With trains traveling up to 220 miles per hour, high speed rail will move people across this great state very quickly and with a much smaller carbon foot print than other options. The current plan for Fresno is to have the train come through the city on tracks that are 60 feet in the air! S great blog post. What do you think? I'm a person who love...
