David Cowdry. The magic of Light. Ramblings of an Artist, Naturalist, Fisherman, Photographer and Cook. Tuesday, 3 February 2015. Stepping out onto a Frosty field. Firstly an apology. Its been sometime since my last blog. I think that was way back in October, towards the end. Much has happened since then but I won't go into that other than telling you that I got engaged just before Christmas. I'm a very happy man at this moment in my life. A beautiful Ash, tall and defiant in Winters embrace. On returnin...

http://davidcowdry.blogspot.com/2014/10/the-green-pool.html
David Cowdry. The magic of Light. Ramblings of an Artist, Naturalist, Fisherman, Photographer and Cook. Friday, 24 October 2014. This morning I decided to pay a short visit to a little pool I know to do a some fishing. I was not intending to write a blog today but because of the weather I have returned home early. So to fill the gap between fishing and making dinner tonight here is another blog. Watching Rudd in Summer, a lovely way to pass some time. A couple of minutes later a fish of such an intensity...

David Cowdry. The magic of Light: September 2014
http://davidcowdry.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
David Cowdry. The magic of Light. Ramblings of an Artist, Naturalist, Fisherman, Photographer and Cook. Monday, 29 September 2014. An Estate lake in the land of flint and brick. Down the drive and to the right I took a narrow path which skirts the lake. Here it is wooded and smells musty and of Autumns decay. As the sun is low it is shadowed here, the lilies glazed in cool blues and scattered with the first of this seasons decaying leaves, like chilli flakes on pizza. Moving out of the shade into the sun.

David Cowdry. The magic of Light. Ramblings of an Artist, Naturalist, Fisherman, Photographer and Cook. Thursday, 25 September 2014. Fairy dust and Honeysuckle wafts. I wrote the bare bones of this earlier in the year and with nothing better to do while waiting for a frame to dry I thought why not flesh it out a little. Dusty perfumed lanes. Oil on Linen. I strolled through dusty musty perfumed lanes. Hot rich herby foliage thick with heavy green and earthy aromas. Honeysuckle wafts and Meadowswe...My fr...

David Cowdry. The magic of Light. Ramblings of an Artist, Naturalist, Fisherman, Photographer and Cook. Monday, 9 February 2015. A Dragon's Dawn, a field of spun silk and a house full of fire. After breakfast there was the morning after the night before clearing up to do but I enjoyed it, knowing that later we would venture out into the day, into the brightness of it and soak some of its radiance into our very souls. Jill sat amongst a field of silken webbed beauty. Returning the way we came, the sun now...

David Cowdry. The magic of Light: Is it any good? Looking with a critical eye.
http://davidcowdry.blogspot.com/2014/10/is-it-any-good-looking-with-critical-eye.html
David Cowdry. The magic of Light. Ramblings of an Artist, Naturalist, Fisherman, Photographer and Cook. Thursday, 9 October 2014. Is it any good? Looking with a critical eye. Working out if a painting is what you want is a relatively simple task for a non artist. Does it please you to look at it? Does it take you somewhere or make you feel a certain emotion? Is it of something or somewhere that you are connected to? Will the colours go with my sofa or curtains? Secondly, the muted palette. No rich, b...

David Cowdry. The magic of Light. Ramblings of an Artist, Naturalist, Fisherman, Photographer and Cook. Wednesday, 29 July 2015. Floating upon a silken sea. Floating upon a silken sea. Cliff tops crowded with flowers. The view from our camp for the night. We toasted the sun with a beer and drifted to sleep listening to the gentle caress of the wavelets upon the shore and the distant cries of gulls. Look at that, " makes it even more enjoyable.
