I created this piece in several stages. The initial iteration of the piece was made from a drum track and manipulated pink noise. This was then time stretched by a factor of approximately four and I added several synth tracks and audio extracted from a picture of the dungeons at Trim Castle, Co. The Earth Will Once Again Bear Fruit. This piece was created during the making of ‘The Other Master’ while I was working on ‘Ossuary’. It was created by generating a short clip of noise by opening a text document as an audio file which was then looped and manipulated. Synths: Crystal by Green Oak, TAL Noisemaker. Guitar: Prepared acoustic guitar. Rain: Recorded using a Zoom H4N. This piece was assembled from the bones of a couple of other pieces I was working on that were never finished. The guitar was a lot of fun to record, it was made by preparing an acoustic guitar with metal rods and blu tack placed at node points along each string. Taking this idea to the extreme, on Precession I used files from NMR spectroscopy, a technique used to study the structure of matter on the atomic level.
