Andrew's Code: June 2012

http://andrewscode.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Friday, June 15, 2012. I just learned about " about:about. Which (in current versions of Firefox and Chrome, at least) gives you a menu of all the "about:" pages (which in Chrome are actually chrome:/ pages). How lovely! Here's the blog post. Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Cache OpenLayers Tiles With Web SQL Database. Note: this post has been edited to reflect the current state of OpenLayers and my code.). As of this edit, there's an open pull request. Ahocevar's pull request for the initial implementation.

http://andrewscode.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 10, 2013. So I took a break from this blog, and in switching jobs I lost access to the Retina MBP about which I started a series of posts. Windows 8 on MBP is probably old news by now anyway. I may post more here if I start a new iOS app or a small webapp for work. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Andrew's Code: Serious Mono Development on the Mac: Why Not?

http://andrewscode.blogspot.com/2012/11/serious-mono-development-on-mac-why-not.html

Saturday, November 17, 2012. Serious Mono Development on the Mac: Why Not? I didn't have a good IDE (more on that in a bit). Compiling and running from the command line is gross. (Yes, I know, MonoDevelop, getting to that.). I mostly wanted to do GUI stuff, the Windows Forms support was only partial, GTK sounds gross because it's not native to either .NET *or* the Mac, I didn't know any Cocoa, and Cocoa# sounded like a pretty experimental hack when I first read about it anyway. Not So Wrong Anymore.

Andrew's Code: Swipe Gesture Overloading Considered Harmful

http://andrewscode.blogspot.com/2012/11/swipe-gesture-overloading-considered.html

Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Swipe Gesture Overloading Considered Harmful. So both Firefox 17 and Chrome 23 interpret a two-fingered right-swipe on my RMBP trackpad as a "back" gesture. This would be a really nifty feature if right-swipe didn't have the system-wide canonical meaning "drag the scrollable content right." You say, "What? No horizontal scroll gestures in Firefox and Chrome? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What I Did Instead of the Xamarin Contest. Mono for Mac Scripting: Rawr!

Sew With a View. Thursday, March 7, 2013. When I found out that QuiltCon. Was going to be in Austin, Texas, I sent a message to my college roommate Anna, who lives there. Again, being a generous hostess, Anna said she had plenty of room and Leila and her little Becca stayed with us too. I didn't have my...

http://sewwithaview.blogspot.com/2013/02/mo-stash-bee-quilt.html

Sew With a View. Wednesday, February 6, 2013. On the last day of January, I received the last two blocks for the Mo-Stash Bee. For the quilt I will make. I've posted one of my blocks here, but I thought I'd show all of them together. Here's the first layout I tried, Roy G. Biv style. Then I tried Roy G. Biv going down the first row, up the next, and down again. Then I tried random placement. I think I like this best. Then I wanted to see how it might look with sashing. February 6, 2013 at 8:02 AM. And I are going to be presenting to The Des Moines Modern Quilt Guild. About it in a couple of weeks, so I don't want to spoil things for my guild members. Sew With a View. Monday, February 4, 2013. God makes messy things beautiful. We gave Tomás the Slugs and Bugs Under Where. Album for Christmas. It has lots of fun songs and it's one of those CDs for kids that is actually not bad to listen to as an adult. The first Slugs and Bugs and Lullabyes. Album is also quite good. Anyway, in the one we recently bought, the first song says:. God makes messy things beautiful. When you put them in His hands. God makes messy things beautiful. Like only He can. I'm Emily...
