Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Regrets of the dying. So I came across this article a few days ago and finally got a chance to re-post. Needless to say, this is kicking my ass. Regrets of the Dying - Bronnie Ware. For many years I worked in palliative care. My patients were those who had gone home to die. Some incredibly special times were shared. I was with them for the last three to twelve weeks of their lives. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

Thursday, January 31, 2013. Film review - Silver Linings Playbook. I love a film with no CGI. Further to that, I love a film that still hails to the old school philosophy that a good film rises and falls on strong characters, great writing, excellent acting and equally good direction. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Gun Control v's Gun Violence. Guns, it seems, strikes right at the heart of America. The gun control debate has raged for years despite the gun deaths of Presidents, children, soldiers, politi...

Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Beauty in the every day - Joshua Bell. Two days before, Joshua Bell sold-out a theatre in Boston where the seats averaged $200 each to hear him play the same music. The is a true story. Joshua Bell, playing in the DC Metro Station, was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people's priorities. There is beauty in the every day - it's just a matter of finding it. Read the full Washington Poast story HERE. It’s a great li...

andrew speaks easy: Fight Club, Jack Nicholson and the skill of being ordinary.

http://www.andrewspeakseasy.blogspot.com/2013/01/fight-club-jack-nicholson-and-skill-of.html

Monday, January 14, 2013. Fight Club, Jack Nicholson and the skill of being ordinary. I can’t help but think that we’re all destined to be ordinary. Ironically, to do ordinary well, takes an extraordinary amount of effort and skill. Why is there a cultural and societal pressure to live up to an expectation to jettison away from the ordinary and live large? To be successful, to reach your potential, to be all you were meant to be? But let’s be honest with each other here. What if Jack Nicholson ...Yet som...

Mark and Angela :: Wedding | Derek McClure Photography

https://derekmcclure.wordpress.com/2013/01/21/mark-and-angela-wedding

Mark and Angela : Wedding. A wedding that I’ll never forget! It had it all, perfect weather, MA15 content, action and drama, comedy and tragedy, coffee, and two people in love. Mark and Angela are a couple of people who you just want to hang around with. Mark is very funny and would do almost anything for a dare (.hence some MA15 content.) and Angela is a super fit boxer. (.the action.). Angela and the girls were simply stunning and fantastic to photograph. One thought on “ Mark and Angela : Wedding.

52 Portraits :: Week #42 | Derek McClure Photography

https://derekmcclure.wordpress.com/2013/01/23/52-portraits-week-42

52 Portraits : Week #42. Photographing the ‘real’ Nathan is pretty easy. As he’s always just being himself anyway. Nathan’s real talent is his ability to be real. His attempts at covering it up with awesome song writing skills, guitar playing, singing, fatherhood, husbandry, and youth leadership fail to hide just how down to earth he is. As a result he inspires and motivates people to their best by simply being himself. One thought on “ 52 Portraits : Week #42. February 14, 2013 at 11:22 am. Send to Emai...

Andrew Speaks/Types

August 10, 2008. Posted by Andrew in blogging. I’m thinking about getting rid of the ol’ Andrew Speaks/Types. As in deleting it. People that I know are starting to read it and I kind of see this blog as a place where I can whine about whatever I want to and get away with it. And that won’t be reality anymore if certain people start reading. I’m not making any decisions yet, but I’m thinking about it. Also, there will definitely be a music blog in 09, probably on Blogger. An Oldie But A Goodie (Photos XIV).
