The Search for Nicole: June 2006
http://thesearchfornicole.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
The Search for Nicole. Monday, June 12, 2006. Futbol, the Most Beautiful Sport in the World. I have to admit that I like to see all the slide tackling and roughness in soccer as well. I think soccer is a form of art. Such amazing use of the human body relative to the ball is somehow so beautiful. The game is simple and complex at the same time. John Lancaster best describes the elegance of the sport in the June 2006 issue of National Geographic:. Posted by nicole @ 1:51 PM. Friday, June 09, 2006. I have ...

The Search for Nicole: April 2006
http://thesearchfornicole.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
The Search for Nicole. Sunday, April 30, 2006. Cock a doodle doooo! Rafael told me yesterday that I would have to get used to the sounds of Guatemala. This morning I started to do just that- `Cock-a-doodle doooo! On my way home from this cafe last night, a girl in Guatemalan dress was selling sliced mango on the street by my house. She was fanning it, I think from the flies. {save} I love it here! Today I will explore Antigua. {save} Sundays are the only day that the family does not provide meals, so...

The Search for Nicole: February 2006
http://thesearchfornicole.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
The Search for Nicole. Thursday, February 02, 2006. Did I accomplish anything worthwhile? Did I make myself happy? Perhaps only their happiness will reassure me that I am in the right place. Although it is dangerous and poor, I know that I like it there. I will identify with the place and the people in some way. It will feel like home. Or am I running, trying to find myself? I always crave a different perspective. Posted by nicole @ 1:02 PM. Sometimes it Rains in Portland. A Perfectly Good Silence.

The Search for Nicole: August 2006
http://thesearchfornicole.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
The Search for Nicole. Monday, August 28, 2006. A long story short: the keg was dry by midnight and we finished it on the roof where it was much cooler, much more scenic and less disruptive to my neighbors. Clearly haven't drank enough yet. This is Bob, the photographer. Thanks Bob! A sample of high fashion. Following the keg was shots at (my new neighbor! Alex's. The first one was good. I remember making faces at the 2nd shot. It appears that Choco felt the same. The Marathon Taverna was the last stop.

The Search for Nicole: March 2006
http://thesearchfornicole.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
The Search for Nicole. Wednesday, March 15, 2006. The Golden Arches- A Memory of Dad. Dad and I were in Cottage Grove visiting grandma and grandpa. I couldn't sleep and dad was awake working on his log books. I got up and joined him at the dining room table- grandma and grandpa lived on Pritchett Place then. (I can even remember the street number.) After we chatted for awhile, he got up and went to the window and said, "Wanna go get something to eat? The golden arches are still lit up, see? If you don't ...

The Search for Nicole: July 2006
http://thesearchfornicole.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
The Search for Nicole. Friday, July 21, 2006. Nothing else screams "carpool" more than living in the same building as a girl who works just 3 blocks from my job. Angie and I started carpooling today. Although it may be only one or two days a week that it works out for us to carpool, I feel like I am starting to do my part to conserve. They are rare here in Portland.). I highly recommend reading it) and I must say that I am very proud to be a Portlander. Even some of our buses use biodiesel! I handed my c...

The Search for Nicole: November 2006
http://thesearchfornicole.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
The Search for Nicole. Thursday, November 30, 2006. I am becoming increasingly frustrated because I feel like I will offend friends and family who read my blog. I have never been one to sugarcoat the truth or my thoughts or opinions, so it worries me that I will create drama by writing truthfully and candidly about my thoughts, ideas and opinions. I guess the question then becomes, who is this blog FOR and who am I trying to please? Myself or my friends and family? WHO IS MY AUDIENCE? So, I will now be w...

The Search for Nicole: December 2006
http://thesearchfornicole.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
The Search for Nicole. Tuesday, December 26, 2006. Who invited THAT guy? We've never seen anything like him. This should be enough to celebrate the birth of a king! Posted by nicole @ 2:23 PM. Monday, December 18, 2006. Can You Believe It? New York City (population 8.2 million within an area of 321 square miles) does NOT have a mandatory recycling program. Isn't this the city that had problems with WHERE to put their garbage? Am I missing something here? Does it not help our environment? I think I liked ...

The Search for Nicole: September 2006
http://thesearchfornicole.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
The Search for Nicole. Wednesday, September 27, 2006. New Car, New Me. I have given up the "luxury" of a 4WD standard cab pickup for the practicality of a fuel-efficient sedan. No more stuffing the contents of my life behind 2 bucket seats, sometimes having to move the passenger seat forward to stuff more crap behind. No more phone calls from my beloved friends to help them move! I now have four doors, a moonroof, power locks/windows/side view mirrors and, best of all- TRUNK! It's like another ROOM!

The Search for Nicole. Wednesday, May 31, 2006. After the game I went to the most amazing place- Hotel Santa Domingo. http:/ www.casasantodomingo.com.gt/english/index.html. I bought my favorite cake from my favorite sweet shop, La Cenicienta, to share with the family after dinner. A delicious cake with white fluffy frosting and strawberries and a layer of fruit filling. (None of the sweets here are too sweet! Posted by nicole @ 10:28 AM. Tuesday, May 30, 2006. My Last Day in Guatemala. First, they use me...

Andrew's Thoughts
Tuesday, January 20, 2009. I'm pretty sure that if i was hit by a car on the way to work today, i would just lie there, mildly disappointed in my luck, and calmly pull out my cell phone to dial 911. hello, i've just been hit by a car. i'm on the corner of wentworth and archer. send an ambulance please. and then i'd just lie there and wait. Wednesday, March 26, 2008. In Greek, from 1 John 4:8). Also, Marion is a Catholic. Oh, did I mention that Jean-Luc Marion is coming to speak at my school in one wee...

The characters I work with come from a variety of times and places, some of which are influenced by East Asian culture, fantasy, science fiction, European mythology, and tribal and nomadic cultures. I am additionally influenced by lore of the modern age. We have our own legends and myths in popular culture, more specifically internet culture, a phenomenon I am actively invested in.
