Andy suffered from a rare type of blood cancer called acute myeloid leukaemia. It forms in bone marrow and releases abnormal white blood cells into the bloodstream. the production of normal red blood cells is therfore affected resulting in anaemia and bleeding problems. The exploration of Andys lyrics reveal how he felt and understood his illness. Andy undertook chemotherapy, the main form of treatment for leukaemia. His feeling for this treatment are explored in the song Im On (Chemo Again!

This section of the site contains a breakdown of andys three albums and his recording process in his own words. The three albums; The Chemo Tapes.
