flammertime: October 2009

Saturday, October 24, 2009. A popular fundraiser in New Zealand is to do a sausage sizzle. Basically you set yourself up in a high traffic area with a grill, some drinks and a few condiments and sell sausages (like American bratwurst) on white bread with onions. It is a cheap snack/meal and a fun fundraiser. . With the recent devastation in the Asian Pacific countries that have affected many families in New Zealand, ReChurch decided to partner with World Vision. We set up at the QEII park complex.

flammertime: I'm lovin' it!
http://flammertime.blogspot.com/2009/12/im-lovin-it.html
Tuesday, December 1, 2009. I realise that it has been a while since I have posted something fun about life in New Zealand. Most of our updates lately have been about Rechurch, but I thought today's events would make for a perfect glimpse into other parts of New Zealand life and culture. Last month there was a "Largest Mattress Domino Competition" where people were to bring out their mattresses and stand them in a line like a domino chain.
