Andy the .NET guy. Don’t break a contract or you will be sorry…. →. Power of LINQ – Part 1. May 20, 2011. What is the fastest way to process command line arguments in the form:. Option1=value1 option2 option3=value3 …. And turn it into a Dictionary string, string so that d[option1] = value1, d[option2] = string.Empty, etc. One line of LINQ can do this easily, thanks to Enumerable extension functions:. String.Empty : s[1]) ; return d; } }. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

July 3, 2011. 8220;Code Contracts” have finally made it out of Microsoft Research into reality. As of today, there are 4 versions to download. From devlabs. You can get standard and premium verison, and from Microsoft Research. Let’s have some fun. Let’s write a simple priority queue generic interface:. Andy the .NET guy. Don’t break a contract or you will be sorry…. Back from the dead… →. August 6, 2011. To sort an array of type T, one can use Array.Sort. Which is actually fairly efficient. I tried to beat Array.Sort without having to write too much code. First, I implemented the standard quicksort on generic array using information found on wikipedia. And as expected, Array.sort beat my implementation by a factor of about 1.5 when I was sorting 100,000 randomized strings (see code listing 1). Sorted) ...
Visual Studio Add-In | andydotnetguy

Andy the .NET guy. Power of LINQ – Part 1 →. May 20, 2011. Visual Studio add-in is a nice way to generate code automatically, along with other things. For example, let’s say you wrote a nice little class with plenty of C# properties. To create a ToString function which displays these properties, especially in sorted order for easy reading, you have several options:. Brute force do it by hand. Create an extension method on object to use reflection to look up properties. Nice, but expensive at runtime.

Don't Let The Database Dictate Your Design. I have been thinking recently about how the database can influence our design decisions, and perhaps makes them harder than they need to be in some cases. An example of this is the design of a system which stores data about people, specifically for this, their email addresses. A cut down version of the structure is this:. Which is represented in code like so:. They are also associated with exactly one person, so the. So they can be queried by ID. While this wor...

When I think I dont even think about anything inparticular, If you asked me what i’ve been thinking about I really would not know. Do I actually think things through?
