After our usual breakfast here, we joined the A4 Westbound from the A559 extension of the A59 Northbound, and carried on via the E314 and Then the E40 round the dreaded R0 at Brussels and onwards towards France and the Tunnel at Calais. Never grow up, Grown-ups are boring! Monthly Archives: October 2016. Ok it’s work but it’s still overseas. Left home this morning at 6:15 and drove West almost to the end of Cornwall, got on a ‘Plane and flew 28 miles out into the Atlantic Ocean, got off the Plane (after it Landed) and caught a minibus to the Quay on St. Marys then a ‘Jet’ boat a couple of miles further to get off on the Private Holiday Island of Tresco! Never grow up, Grown-ups are boring! Lots of old houses and even more Kids. Went to the Open Air Museum today, http:/ en.vogtsbauernhof.de/. Very reminiscent of the Weald and Downland Museum on the Hampshire Sussex Surrey borders. It is just off the main road with a lovely car park but of course Three different nationalities of Coaches parked there. Had a look round the first half, then with lunchtime approaching and a school party threatening to fill the next exhibit, we had to try out the Tea and Cake!

Exploring Europe on W B Avalon. June 5, 2015. Since my last post there have been Internet problems but we finally found a safe mooring in Saint-Fargeau Ponthierry in a little marina where we befriended our neighbour, David, who amazingly liked my cooking! He also very kindly helped Kev sort out travel arrangements to collect the motor home from Meaux and even drove him to the bus station. Anyway, we stayed a few days busily packing and readying Avalon for our departure. A lovely castle and good times.

On the way to Calais we stopped off to see Graham and Jill (Matilda Rose) in Jussy which was a barren little town. We had lots of laughs and Herbie wandered into some mud so got a quick al fresco shower …. Jill cooked us a lovely dinner albeit a little dry … eh Jill? It was fab catching up with them again. It was only around 500 metres away so I braved it in high heels for once. What a great evening we had at Bofingers! Lobster which was flambéd in whiskey. It was delicious. Also a veterinary university and practice. I have to say it was fascinating and absorbing. Sorry if the photos offend but the specimens here are from the 17th century so very very dead.
