You are speaking nonsense. This troubles me. Professor Dementor, Kim Possible. Thursday, October 29, 2009. I just watched " Bolt. And now I feel compelled to talk about it. It's been sort of on my list since the Batman trailers. I now understand WHY it was in that group of trailers (you know, mixed in with Watchmen, Terminator Salvation, and Quantum of Solace). Ultimately, Sarah and I enjoyed it. Also, I want a dog (it doesn't have to have super powers, though that would be nice). Well, *I* was impressed.

I have become something of a fanboy in recent years and today I feel like sharing. I use a lot of their other products: Gmail. To name a few. The fact that they're all synchronized is a big deal to me, the systems engineer. Google doesn't provide the only such system, but theirs is a good one, especially if you're already using Gmail. I real...

You are speaking nonsense. This troubles me. Professor Dementor, Kim Possible. Saturday, March 23, 2013. The movie adaptation of Ender's Game. Alyssa Rosenberg at ThinkProgress recently posted an excellent article with recommendations for how to consume content created by awful people. Rosenberg is specifically talking about Orson Scott Card, too, so let's get that part out of the way first. I love Ender's Game. Regardless of your political leanings. I think everyone would benefit from the kind of th...

No one minds the beige, that's the whole point of staging with it. It goes with everything. Or to be more accurate: it doesn't clash with anything. It's safe because it's boring. So it's going. Room by room we're clearing it out. And we're getting the hang of it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hmm, interesting: Links from my reader share file.

You are speaking nonsense. This troubles me. Professor Dementor, Kim Possible. Saturday, August 15, 2009. When I talk about our recent move to Syracuse, the first question I usually get from those who have been here before is: "Have you eaten at Dinosaur BBQ. Thanks to Dave Hauver, who (if I remember correctly) has family in the area, I had already tried spiedies. They're cubes of meat, marinated in a special spiedie sauce, cooked on a spit, and served in a bread roll. It's one of those local loved f...

You are speaking nonsense. This troubles me. Professor Dementor, Kim Possible. Sunday, September 21, 2008. Green is a complex color. This discussion is helped in part by an increasing consumer demand for "green" and the resulting increase in industry attempts to meet that demand. The problem is that it's a complex issue, and no one really likes complexity. They want a rubber stamp that tells them whether a product is good or not (the healthy food trend faces the same issues). It's the metrics. I can't te...

You are speaking nonsense. This troubles me. Professor Dementor, Kim Possible. Thursday, April 01, 2010. Sarah and I are getting married shortly. Our good friends Meredith and Brantley, who have kindly consented to oversee the wedding ceremony, are eventually going to ask Sarah and myself a few questions. The version directed to me will likely follow the lines of "Rob, will you have Sarah to be your wife? 1 I guess, sure whatever. 2 Wow, that's a tough question! 3 Do you need an answer now? 4 Wait, what?

Note: this is a long and occasionally rambling entry, more essay than blog. It's possible I had a lot of coffee before writing it (I should try that with my book writing, maybe I'd get more done). In any case, I apologize for nothing but you HAVE been warned.]. Hijacked my train of thought. Mankind's progress and rate of learning so far has been limited by the ability of ...
