Our mind collects memories. Bits of time, certain places, words, whispers, smiles, touches, fragrances perforate and cut their way, ‘wounding’ our mind until they become part of it. Blissful or painful, we store them and we continuously transform them, changing as well the value we confer them. My objects are fragile, nearly ephemeral, reflecting the fragility of the memories that created them. And they bring back whispers, moments, smiles that ought not to be forgotten. My interest in contemporary jewelry appeared as a natural change of scale that I initially had the chance to experience in the larger, dimensionally speaking, context of architecture. Therefore, I started making jewelry applying the same creative process I used to refer to in architecture, but my work has slowly moved from geometrical patterns and mathematical algorithms, deeply imprinted on my mind, to a more experimental approach. 2015: HOLLOW, at Minim, Barcelona, Spain. Angela Cingolani designs architectural projects in various parts of the word, together with interior and product designing. She graduated in Architecture at the Università la Sapienza in Rome and she is a member of the Italian Association of Architects. Working as a product designer, she is part of the Poltrona Frau Collection and is developing new ideas for various other Italian Brands.
