Where is my Inner Masculine? Where is my inner masculine when I need him? When I have all these dreams and ambitions. When the road’s not easy. Where there are hills and bends. When I need him to support me. With grit and strength. When I need determination. Where is he, I cry; I need him now. But his reply is faint. Sometimes here, sometimes not. Not yet stable it seems. He waivers and stops. In my dreams though I meet him. There again, he’s vague. Sometimes tall and solid. Yet more often than not.

Catching-Up to Soul Speed. Slowly, slowly I’ve cottoned on. I’ve learnt to catch-up to my Soul. No longer am I surprised. When faced with a new direction. When the one that I had. And clung on to. Now I’m more used. To the twists and the turns. To the shocks and the gasps. At what I felt sure would endure. Starts to unravel and feel old. And I’m left reminded. That only change is certain. As my Ego grips tightly. My Soul can relax. As I dare feel what it’s like. To let go and trust. A blank canvas awaits.

Late at night, as I sleep. The night workers take over. In my dreams they take stock. Through the debris of the day. Through the hubris of my mind. Sorting and cleaning muddled perceptions. Of my childhood mess. And from even before. Like Vasilisa and her tasks. They turn over the pile. They sort and they sift. What needs more light? What needs more air? What needs to come up? To the cold light of day. The corners that need dusting. The creatures to be fed. The monsters to be loved. The nakedness of truth.

I Bow to the Trees. I bow to the trees. You shed your beauty. In letting go to survive your winter. You provide nutrients for my Soul. With each gasp of breath. That I take at the wonder. In losing your attire. In going naked for months. That beauty is indeed within. No matter the time of year. And that feeding my Soul. That nothing else matters. Except the gorging feast. Through my eyes, skin and heart. Of your wondrous beauty. Of your breath-taking flight. Of the dance of your leaves. New buds will form.

In honour of those in Paris. As the clouds darken. And the world shuts its eyes. I weep with the fear. Of what is to arise. As the bombs rain down. And the children cry. As the violence quickens. No one exempt to die. As the earth rages. In her anger and her pain. As the forests burn. As the clouds thicken. I bow my head. As each battle forgotten. I weep for the loss. Like a shiny gloss. Over all the forsaken. From one war to the next. For their pain is mine. And their loss is ours. And tonight I pray.
