At the end of the day: April 2014
http://angelasanderswrites.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
At the end of the day. Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Todd gets home from Spain today and just in time. The soft T-shirt he sleeps in—the one he left behind at my request—has lost its scent, and I am desperate for the sweetness of morning snuggles. The world is scary. However, none of that matters much when I’m buried in Todd’s warmth, breathing him in and listening to his heartbeat. Ut he’s not here. His shirt is—a very poor substitute for the real thing—and I’m feeling grumpy and sad. The problem is this.

At the end of the day: Kickers and Knockers: When Bullies Don't Grow Up
http://angelasanderswrites.blogspot.com/2013/09/kickers-and-knockers-when-bullies-dont.html
At the end of the day. Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Kickers and Knockers: When Bullies Don't Grow Up. I remember those days, stepping out of my mother's car full of warm, familiar morning smells into cooler temperatures and an invisible cloud of car exhaust, holding my breath against acrid fumes and my own uncertain immediate future. Rounding the blind corner that opened into the commons area of our junior high school, I would will my heart to slow down, my stomach to settle. It didn't always work. No ma...

At the end of the day: February 2014
http://angelasanderswrites.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
At the end of the day. Wednesday, February 19, 2014. My seventh-grade students are in the middle of a research project on the 1960’s. For bell work one day, I asked them whether they had ever felt that they had been born in the wrong decade. The discussion that followed was very interesting. Almost all of them felt that they had been born in the wrong decade and named the 50’s, 60’s, and 80’s as the alternates they pined for. These days, everyone is scared. It made me sad, but I had to agree. Take away t...

At the end of the day: Mentor Me
http://angelasanderswrites.blogspot.com/2014/08/mentor-me.html
At the end of the day. Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Church people use the word “discipleship” a lot these days, but not like they used to, and I have to say that I’m kind of glad. Five or six years ago, it was a buzz word that carried with it a long list of ambiguous and unspoken expectations. Frankly, it made me nervous. No one wanted to disciple me, or if they did, they didn’t say so. Of course, I probably would have taken such an offer as personal criticism. Can I disciple you? Besides, I didn’t wa...

At the end of the day: Don't Miss It!
http://angelasanderswrites.blogspot.com/2014/08/dont-miss-it.html
At the end of the day. Thursday, August 21, 2014. 8220;Those who passed by hurled insults at Him, shaking their heads and saying, ‘So! You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, come down from the cross and save yourself! I read this passage this morning and was immediately frustrated with these people. Because they didn’t have their facts straight! They were operating on second-hand information that was grievously skewed by an incorrect pronoun and an inaccurate verb. They might...

At the end of the day: Why I Don't Drink
http://angelasanderswrites.blogspot.com/2013/07/why-i-dont-drink.html
At the end of the day. Sunday, July 7, 2013. Why I Don't Drink. I've been debating for a long time whether or not to write a blog on drinking. I have strong feelings on the subject, but no one has ever asked me directly what they are. For the most part, they assume and then spend the rest of the conversation explaining (sometimes justifying, though I'm not judging) their own choice. The Bible says not to be drunk, and the line between having a drink and having too many drinks is just too fuzzy. Alcohol c...

At the end of the day: January 2014
http://angelasanderswrites.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
At the end of the day. Saturday, January 18, 2014. Nothing shakes my confidence like looking in the mirror after a long day of interaction with people and finding that I had food in my teeth, a booger in my nose, or dandruff in my hair. That probably seems shallow. That's because it is, but I can't help it. I'm a little narcissistic. If I wasn't, I wouldn't have a blog, now would I? So, what to do about Magic Mirror? Friday, January 3, 2014. Sorry, but Not Sorry. Aaron," his mother warned gently. The lit...
