What the Heck is This Blog About? Posted by Wishwords in admin. In the interview Dorlana Vann did with me over on Supernatural Fairy Tales. Yesterday, I mentioned that I wanted to add a new aspect to this blog. I want to see what I inspire in you. I want fiction from you. Here are the guidelines:. 1) Submit fiction of 500 words or less between the time I post the creature article and the 15th of the month. 2) The creature of the month must play a major part in the story. Let's see what you can do. Storie...

What the Heck is This Blog About? Interview with Maggie Stiefvater about "Shiver". Posted by Wishwords in interview. In case you haven't heard, Maggie Stiefvater's novel "Shiver" just came out. It's about werewolves, but she gave them a very interesting twist. It's always fascinating to find out how and why a legend evolves, and this was a chance to catch one in the act. I asked Maggie why she chose werewolves and why she made the changes she did. So now . . . now I thought I had something...Now, Grac...

What the Heck is This Blog About? Posted by Wishwords in flash. We have another story, this time with Leviathan. 8220;How do you speak to it? 8221; The elf-woman called, tending her bonfire of keys. Her fingers tangled in the smoke, seeming to yank at the flames. “What if it will not carry us? What if it is dying and we have to go back? 8220;You would stay? With the forest falling around you, axes at every root? 8220;Your skin is no more real than that creature is visible to those axe-wielders from the v...

What the Heck is This Blog About? My muse is a sneaky thing, wielding inspiration like an angry young man hiding just around the dark corner with a broken board scavenged from a construction site trash pile. I found the beginning of my post apocalyptic werewolf novel when I wasn’t looking for it. Care to follow my journey? One of the books, Alas, Babylon. Do you have On the Beach. This weekend I took The Stepsister Scheme. For pleasure reading, The New Square Foot Gardening. I read it to L and he immedia...

Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Daylight - are we really saving? Here's a little history: http:/ aa.usno.navy.mil/faq/docs/daylight time.php. What it means to me: Lost sleep, cranky family, guilt over not doing more while it's still light out. On the bright side, the clock in my car is FINALLY right. Now, how long will it take me to stop subtracting an hour in my head everytime I look at it? So confusing. why can't we be more like Arizona or Hawaii? Labels: daylight savings time. Ingrid Ougland Sellie: Music
http://ingridouglandsellie.blogspot.com/2014/01/music.html
Monday, January 13, 2014. I'm a writer. Yet, life has been far too complex for me to put into words. In the past year I've almost lost two loved ones, moved to an amazing island to start my chapter two, found but only admired true love from a distance and lost my mom. I'm not going to write about any of these things. I just can't. And this song just is:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Somewhere east of Seattle. View my complete profile. Ingrid Ougland Sellie: April 2010

Thursday, April 29, 2010. Interesting Read. What do you think? Ephphatha Poetry: "Imagine if the Tea Party Was Black" - Tim Wise. Let’s play a game, shall we? So let’s begin. Would these protester — these black protesters with guns — be seen as brave defenders of the Second Amendment, or would they be viewed by most whites as a danger to the republic? What if they were Arab-Americans? Imagine that white members of Congress, while walking to work, were surrounded by thousands of angry black people, one of...

What the Heck is This Blog About? Very soon I will be attending my first large conference. I'm getting my notes together in case I get the chance to speak to agents. We've been told it's expected of us. I don't plan to pitch anything since nothing is beyond the second draft, but I hope to ask questions and get a feel for things. I've ordered business cards to give to other authors or anyone who asks. They have a plain teal background and my contact info on them. Simple is good. You need to sit down every...
