It's raining in Baltimore, baby.but everything else is the same. Monday, August 10, 2015. I’m at the beach where I’ve been lucky enough to go for the past three years, thanks to Maggie May Etheridge. No, not through her dollars or mad hook-ups, but for pointing me to a blog where I eventually met the blogger’s sister and then her friends and then, well, aren’t we all in this crazy thing together in our little blog-land? It was casual, and we all felt free to ask the hard things. Having a baby has been a ...

It's raining in Baltimore, baby.but everything else is the same. Monday, March 24, 2014. Cups of tea I forget to drink. I also have a very tentative "offer" from another place that would come with relocation. Decisions will be made, and the world won't end. Lives won't be affected- only mine. And what does that matter? We were going back and forth, and I mentioned about how my sister's first reaction is "but won't you be bored. If you move away from DC? Thursday, March 6, 2014. Blowing in the wind. I was...

What I like to do, what I like to eat, what I like to read, what I like to buy. Monday, November 17, 2008. Can You Tell My Parents Came Of Age In Berkeley In The 60s? 160;But that's beside the point. My favorite granola recipe is out of Nigella Lawson's. 160;I think that the salt and the applesauce are really what make the recipe. I'm very into salty sweet things these days.salt caramels.by the way why is this a craze that is sweeping San Francisco. And not New York? From Feast, by Nigella Lawson. Mix e...

What I Like: September 2011
http://whatilikenyc.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
What I like to do, what I like to eat, what I like to read, what I like to buy. Saturday, September 3, 2011. The Age Old Problem. Given how eventful this summer has been it seems odd to say that it has passed quickly. A month ago, dragging myself around the streets of New York in the most extreme heat the city has ever seen, it felt that autumn would take ages to arrive. But, I blinked and it is now just around the corner. Sadly, I was not the only one with this idea. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I make m...

What I Like: October 2010
http://whatilikenyc.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
What I like to do, what I like to eat, what I like to read, what I like to buy. Sunday, October 31, 2010. For me it's slightly different. The first day of my fall is the first night we don't have to run the air conditioner in the bedroom. Our bedroom runs hot since the room has no windows, which means that we have to do odd things like run a humidifier (I'm totally in love with our new one. Cashmere is really more the move than pilling cotton, don't you think? I mean how warm and happy does she look?

What I like to do, what I like to eat, what I like to read, what I like to buy. Tuesday, September 28, 2010. In certain instances I am an intensely thrifty person. Although I have no problem paying $12 per pound for really delicious italian sausage, I have been hesitating for at least a week about paying $6 to iTunes to watch the first two Mad Men episodes from this season that I neglected to DVR originally. But what to do with a stem? Sunday, September 26, 2010. I am a bit the cliched New Yorker in that...

What I like to do, what I like to eat, what I like to read, what I like to buy. Friday, October 17, 2008. Why vegan you may ask? But I digress. As my parents are of the unfailingly supportive, "do what makes you happy" school of parenting, my mom occasionally buys vegan cookbooks to show solidarity with Robin. Her latest discovery? 160; The Joy of Vegan Baking: The Compassionate Cooks' Traditional Treats and Sinful Sweets by Colleen Patrick Goudreau. 2 tablespoons (30 g) ground flaxseed. Preheat the o...

What I like to do, what I like to eat, what I like to read, what I like to buy. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. In theory I wholeheartedly believe in routine maintenance, regular tune-ups and preventative care. Look at any woman of a certain age who has taken care of herself over the years vs. one of the same certain age who has not and the benefit is clear. But even in the face of undeniable proof my commitment to a regime. And if it doesn't, why bother with my multi-step, multi-product process? In the New Yo...
