my bike named frank.: A long overdue update from the newlywed
http://bikenamedfrank.blogspot.com/2011/05/long-overdue-update-from-newlywed.html
My bike named frank. Thursday, May 5, 2011. A long overdue update from the newlywed. Life has been crazy here, as you can expect. We're newylweds on the run: up north to visit my family, to friends' apartments for dinner parties, to work, to bed, to the streets to run or bike - and then we start the cycle all over again. But we've also had a bit of unexpected calm in all of the chaos. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My other blog life. Sunning on the porch. Kimchi and any Asian food.

my bike named frank.: July 2010
http://bikenamedfrank.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
My bike named frank. Friday, July 30, 2010. This morning I'm letting go. Of that other email chain (which was getting quite long). Of the balloons I always forgot to hold onto as a child. Of brokenness and shame and guilt and fear. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:3-9. Holding hands and facing life's hard stuff together. Monday, July 26, 2010. Safely away from us on Saturday.

My bike named frank. Sunday, October 24, 2010. Girl lived in L.A. Boy moved to L.A. Boy went to Girl's church his first week in L.A. Girl didn't notice Boy, only heard other girls talking about "that new Boy.". Boy was invited to lunch by another boy in the same community group as Girl. Boy and Girl sat across from each other at lunch. They talked about barefoot running. Boy came to Girl's community group the next day. And kept coming. Boy quickly became a member of community group and a friend.

My bike named frank. Friday, May 20, 2011. A morning oceanside coffee date. This morning we woke up early, got coffee at the place we had our first date, and walked down to the beach. 1 Cool waist-deep fisherman. 2 Our feet on the sand! And delicious Cow's End cuppa joe. 3 The warm sunrise. 4 Lady running in a skirt. (I mean, have you ever really seen this? I certainly haven't.). Thursday, May 5, 2011. A long overdue update from the newlywed. Or just sit and talk about the day. What an unexpected ble...

my bike named frank.: June 2009
http://bikenamedfrank.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
My bike named frank. Saturday, June 20, 2009. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. I am hoping to minister to people who are just like me: average, everyday Joes just trying to make ends meet and pay...

my bike named frank.: March 2009
http://bikenamedfrank.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
My bike named frank. Monday, March 16, 2009. This morning I walked past a bird perched on the very corner of a neighborhood rooftop. It seemed to be singing as loud as it possibly could, at the top of its little lungs, and of every variation of song - warbles and melodies and screeches and sing-songs. It practiced like a winged thespian, preparing for its theatrical role on stage by voicing the persona of all of its characters. It was a beautiful way to start the day. Tuesday, March 10, 2009. I'd also ju...

my bike named frank.: July 2009
http://bikenamedfrank.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
My bike named frank. Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Today, I spied with my little eye:. A baby girl with a mullet. A man who walked by me smelling like watermelon Jolly Ranchers. A student in a study room who didn't hear me come in and continued singing quite loudly to music coming through his headphones. Pink, blue and purple. Yesterday I realized that I was wearing my three favorite colors of childhood: pink, blue, and purple. Green didn't become the #1 until much later. School got a whole lot harder. One o...
