Meditation Garden

A few years back, Christine Trueman. Had a vision of turning the weed covered lakeside area at the back of the church into a beautiful Meditation Garden, complete with a bench and cross. Then, Auriel and Malcolm Mackenzie donated a classic old park bench. Which Jack Lebans skilfully refinished. This has been a perfect spot for people to come and just sit quietly; and also, Melanye starts her Sunday School classes there on a nice day. Back to home page.

A few years back, Christine Trueman. Had a vision of turning the weed covered lakeside area at the back of the church into a beautiful Meditation Garden, complete with a bench and cross. And his granddaughter MacKenzie. Went out into the forest and carefully selected a tree that would be just right for the cross. They chopped it down, peeled it, and cut it into two pieces. Back at the Trueman house, they put the two pieces together, laid the cross on the trailer and brought it down to the church.

Of St David’s Church. It all started almost a hundred years ago, with a small group of very faithful Christians and their Anglican rector, Rev. Grice-Hutchinson. Then, under a variety of rectors, services continued in homes, schools and halls. Then in 1952, the present lakeshore lot was purchased from Darwin Charlton.
