Welcome to

http://anglicanbeads.com/My%20personal%20story.htm

My personal story by The Rev. Keith Howlett. I was emotionally and spiritually paralyzed. I went to the church and found that I couldn't concentrate long enough to read scripture or pray. I sat silently in the church with pain and depression, offering time as the only offering I was able to make. Grief made me silent in prayer. When grief was past, I found it difficult to be quiet. My mind was too active and my body was restless. The Orthodox rosary with the Jesus Prayer accomplished the same quiet prayer.

Welcome to

Rhythm of beads, by Archbishop Michael Peers. This is an embarrassing column to write. I want to write about prayer, but I will sound as if I am writing with no experience at all about it. However, I am emboldened by remarks of a friend and colleague, Rowan Williams, Primate of Wales, who spoke quite naturally of his experience of not praying in the mornings because he has to get a child to school. If he can be that candid, why not I? Continue to next page 2). The Benefits of Prayer Beads.

Welcome to

http://anglicanbeads.com/page%204%20How%20to%20use%20Prayer%20Beads.htm

How to use Prayer Beads. There is no set way to use Anglican Prayer Beads. The most common way is to begin with the cross, followed by the invitatory bead that leads to the circle of beads beginning with the Cruciform bead. The same prayer can be said on every bead like the Orthodox beads. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner. A variety of prayers may be associated with the cross, invitatory, cruciform and week beads. Variety is the richness of Anglican Prayer Beads.

Welcome to

http://anglicanbeads.com/Harold%20Nutter%20Forward.htm

Archbishop Harold Nutter, Diocese of Fredericton. As Christians we share a glorious variety of patterns of worship which have come to us from the Early Church Fathers and the Patriarchs and Saints of our individual tradition. While we rejoice in the variety of worship they also pose a real spiritual danger for us, if we allow them to become simply rites to be expected. The other word is Contemplation, not identical to meditation, but similar to it. Again in quiet we look at God, at the Lord Jesus, at...

Empty Handed but Alive in Your Hands: April 2006

http://xianworship.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html

Empty Handed but Alive in Your Hands. A blog exploring what it means to worship God, and to lead others in worship. Sunday, April 09, 2006. Ideas for an Easter Service. Looks like I might be the only musician at OCF next week! Well I think that we need to look at taking Grahams ideas a little further, and rather than me attempting to play songs by myself we can be more creative in our approach. I quite like Sieger Koder's art and Anglican Beads. Perhaps we can do something similar? Answered my question a...

The A-Z of Anglicanism | Thoughts about why we are what we are

The A-Z of Anglicanism. Thoughts about why we are what we are. Article XXIV “Of speaking in the Congregation in such a tongue as the people understandeth”. August 16, 2015. Of speaking in the Congregation in such a tongue as the people understandeth.
