Supergene paper in Nature (again)

Nature is often complicated. Jump to main navigation and login. Supergene paper in Nature (again). Supergene paper in Nature (again). A fascinating supergene paper has just been published in Nature. The surprising finding is that a single gene is implicated, but further is intrigue is added by the likely involvement of an inversion, just as in the previous supergene paper. In another species of butterfly. Time is ripe to tackle the problem of supergenes in our favourite snail,.

A diary of a home renovation – making a cold house warm. About the authors and Beeston house 2 home. View from the bridge. February 6, 2013. The builders broke through to the attic, so we can now see the neighbours’ back gardens. There are some very neat hedges. View from the bridge. Thanks to the dry rot, this also means that we are now in the unusual position of being able to see the attic roof from the ground floor kitchen. Three floors in one! In looking for information on how to insulate protruding ...

A diary of a home renovation – making a cold house warm. About the authors and Beeston house 2 home. September 5, 2013. We finally moved into a few weeks ago – hooray! While there are still quite a few jobs left to do, including at least two major ones – cladding the external wall of the new extension and putting something down over the plywood floor – it is fabulous to be finally in. In the meantime, I found out yesterday that we have been accepted onto the Superhome. Less than three weeks to go! These ...

A diary of a home renovation – making a cold house warm. About the authors and Beeston house 2 home. Less than three weeks to go! July 17, 2013. Sorry for the long silence but we have continued to make progress in renovating the house. The house may not be finished for a while longer, but we are moving in in less than 3 weeks time. This decision has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that we have completely run out of money, or very nearly so. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. March 18th, 2013.

A diary of a home renovation – making a cold house warm. About the authors and Beeston house 2 home. Windows, doors and walls. April 21, 2013. The windows arrived this week and they are now in. Oh my, they look beautiful …. except for generally agreeing, the comment from Alan the builder was that the only problem was that the finish on them is too perfect . In the end, we went for “Ecocontract triple glazed timber sliding sash” windows from the Green Building Store. Sliding folding doors being installed.

The Adventures of Travelling Angus
Thursday, 28 June 2012. So life in Perth is rather slow, but really relaxing. Anni has just finished her exams for the semester so Anni, myself, and four other crazy friends travelled the five hours north from Perth to Geraldton, a city of just under 40,000 people and where another one her friend lives. On the way up to Geraldton we stopped off at some pretty amazing locations. Lancelin - Sandboarding anyone? Um, hope I don't crash! Eerily quite and weird but. This is Nature's Window. Anzac Day in Perth.

I thought I better preserve this where I can find it, and share it, before it disappears from facebook, never to be found again. After Catherine’s funeral. We always planned to scatter her ashes on her birthday. Thursday 28th August 2014 would have been Catherine’s 52nd birthday, but Ovarian Cancer denied her the chance of reaching that particular milestone. Dalgety Bay from Inchcolm Abbey.
