Friday, May 6, 2011. The King's Puzzle cryptic verse. This is what appears to be the "meta puzzle" which my grandfather, Duncan MacLaren Wolfe, prepared for King George VI in 1939. It consists of ten lines of verse with blanks to be filled in. Accompanying this verse are ten separate puzzles, each on its own page. I will scan and upload those as time permits. Don't tell him. The book, as it is shaping up, is The King's Puzzle. Posted by Angus Wolfe. Ian Wilson at the Orillia Farmer's Market. Continues to...

Angus Wolfe's blog: February 2011

http://www.anguswolfe.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 4, 2011. Report on RCN ship. Recently I have been working on the outline and first draft of a report on HMCS Cartier. A vessel which supported the Royal Canadian Navy in the First World War and served as a test ship with them in the Second. Between wars she helped Dominion law enforcement to put down smuggling operations. No news other than this, except for the fact that we continue to see red-bellied woodpeckers regularly. http://www.anguswolfe.blogspot.com/2011/04/my-grandfathers-letter-to-king-george.html

Friday, April 29, 2011. My grandfather's letter to King George VI in 1939. In which he laid out what I've been calling The King's Puzzle. My friend Amanda and I are busy trying to solve this. It's especially relevant given today's Royal Wedding, and the recent movie entitled The King's Speech. My brother Dougie and I were in hysterics during the swearing parts! Posted by Angus Wolfe. Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Hey, I’ve got something really neat this time! That’s ‘Hookah’ Hopkin, a major character in The Secret of the Old Swing Bridge. On the back cover of the book is one of his funny quotes:. 8220;Everybody up here figures I’m crazy. You think I’m crazy. Your dad thinks I’m crazy. That’s cool, I can live with that.”. Posted by Angus Wolfe. Tuesday, December 7, 2010. The Secret of the Old Swing Bridge. I’m so excited to actually see and read a copy! Posted by Angus Wolfe.

Classic Books for Boys: Some thoughts as I work on the backstory for "The King's Puzzle"

http://classicbooksforboys.blogspot.com/2011/06/some-thoughts-as-i-work-on-backstory.html

Classic Books for Boys home. Saturday, June 18, 2011. Some thoughts as I work on the backstory for "The King's Puzzle". I have by my desk a series of books on the craft of novel writing by James N. Frey. Writing, is a trip through the mythological woods, overpowering the scary stuff which lurks behind the trees. In the fascinating process of creating The King's Puzzle. Anyway, to The King's Puzzle. And how they will likely be contrary to those permeating much of the body of work which we classify as toda...

Angus Wines: "Montrose" wines for every budget

Montrose wines for every budget. La Dame de Montrose. Former Montrose Academy pupil Graeme Hetherington knew there were three French wines with Montrose in their names, but it was only in 2011 while on holiday in the Languedoc that he had the chance to visit one. So Graeme set up Angus Wines Limited, a company privately supplying wines with an Angus theme directly to businesses and homes. The wines selected from Chateau Montrose. La Dame de Montrose.
