Friday, July 31, 2015. Sea holly, Eryngium maritimum. July has been damp, (this is an euphemism for wet.) We have had over double the rainfall of last July and the wettest July for five years, it's not been too warm either, down by 2.5c on last year and the coolest July for five years. Still we have had some good days and we have managed to time our day outs on these days, more luck than judgment I should add. Lough Corrib, the 2nd largest in Ireland with 365 islands. Wish our veg garden was so ordered.

Saturday, November 29, 2014. Try as we might we find it impossible to ignore Christmas completely, every week in the lead up there are craft fares and we both love these. Lovely turned wood gifts. Trying to live as lightly as possible on our beautiful planet. Wouldn’t this be a nice entrance to one’s home…or maybe it’s a bit too pretentious for a country cottage! This is the old entrance to Kilronan Castle just outside the village of Keadue in County Roscommon. It was here we met today for the second Bards in the Woods of the year. The first was last week at Hazelwood near Sligo but I didn’t get to that one. The castle has a new lease of life now as a popular hotel. A lovely Sunday in the woods!

We have eaten in the same Turkish Restaurant for years and years but last week when we were celebrating Rob's new job (Yeah!
