A bug in our food. – An Irish Explorer
https://anirishexplorer.wordpress.com/2015/08/10/a-bug-in-our-food
From China And Beyond: Adventure Of A TEFL Teacher. August 10, 2015. By To China And Beyond. A bug in our food. I’m guessing it was in the rice, and then he scooped it into his bowl. It wasn’t covered in any sauce so thats my guessing. As we usually go to the same restaurants for food, I’m sure we’ll go to this one again, but it will be a little soured by this discovery. After that, we were talking and I was asking ‘I wonder what do Chinese people do if they see a bug in their food? 4 thoughts on “...

From China And Beyond: Adventure Of A TEFL Teacher. Author: To China And Beyond. November 5, 2016. By To China And Beyond. Two Mexicans in China. We have been busy lately, with my boyfriends Mum and Dad coming to visit; bringing with them plenty of Mexican food, nuts and my favourite spicy watermelon lolly pops. Oh and a very good quality Tequila with them! High on the list was of course food! They still need to go and see the famous pandas, and there are a few more places where we would like to bring th...
My pet hate of being late! – An Irish Explorer
https://anirishexplorer.wordpress.com/2015/08/15/my-pet-hate-of-being-late
From China And Beyond: Adventure Of A TEFL Teacher. August 15, 2015. By To China And Beyond. My pet hate of being late! Today was my first day in which I’ve returned to teaching. My long holiday is officially over. And it certainly made me remember this awful fact this morning! 25minutes pass on the bus, we are quite close at this stage, but the traffic is fierce. I keep checking my map on my phone to see where we are. My campus area was coming up. But then, I see he keeps continuing straight ahead!

My Korean Language Journey. Follow me on my journey as I learn Korean! I’ve never taken a Korean class since I’ve started studying Korean. I don’t know if this is a bad or good thing however today I decided to Google ‘korean classes glasgow’ and I saw some good results. I checked out the first website called WeeKorea and from looking at their prices, days and times I’ve decided I want to start taking Korean lessons from them! I’m so excited but so nervous! My Thoughts and Musings. April 27, 2015. April 27, 2015. This is possibly the coolest/most exciting thing I have read in a while, time to geek out. Some scientists believe they may be knocking of the door of creating something akin to the warp drives (or hyperdrives, depending on your taste) of science fiction. As described by IFLScience (Link is here. April 23, 2015. Now, back on point, how would most logical people attempt to tackle this unruly list of requirements? But what is that? Lets have a think:.

My Thoughts and Musings. The Last Three Years. March 30, 2014. June 10, 2015. It is not important that my journey is understood, it is after all my journey. The last three years have been turbulent, if not conflicted. But that is far from a bad thing. Fundamentally, my challenge has very much been insular. The spectres that haunted me were hidden within myself; a level of depression and anxiety I was unaware of until I began to question myself. My First Week of Training. Jellybeanqueen: A TEFL blog.

My Thoughts and Musings. My First Week of Training. May 27, 2015. May 27, 2015. Teaching is like nothing I have ever experienced before. This simple statement became the over-riding theme of my first week of training. The building housing said Head Office. Like a duck to some very murky water. PMA, keep those positive vibes. Don’t let them smell your fear. But yes, it’s been a positive experience, which I am awfully glad about, the idea of working in a job you despise or detest for a year would be ...

My Thoughts and Musings. June 11, 2015. June 11, 2015. A short hop, skip and a jump from the flat/apartment, is a smallish local market, nestled along one stretch of an intersection. Strolling up and down its length was my first experience of such a market in Shanghai. The mission was simple, yet dangerous … gather food for dinner! Insert film clichés here). June 10, 2015. My Thoughts and Musings. June 2, 2015. That’s it, all done, no more training; at least not for the time being. Shortly I will be heading to my new school to begin sculpting the minds of my students. A few more observations I’ve made are as follows:. Projecting confidence is key, even if you feel the weight of those crushing nerves looming over you. Don’t let them smell your fear! If these kids sense a whisper of a weakness they’ll walk all over you! My First Week of Training. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

My Thoughts and Musings. January 20, 2015. This May I will be flying halfway around the world to China, more specifically Shanghai, to teach English for a year. To say that I am both nervous and excited is just a bit of an understatement. After all there is only so much reading can prepare you for, and it is a fair old distance from home. But enough of all that, how did I get to this point I hear you ask? Now the teaching part, why teaching? Are You Feeling Small Yet? January 19, 2015. January 19, 2015.

An Irish Dog
An observational look at life from a dog owner All content ©Ruth Morrison 2013. Tuesday, 20 August 2013. One of the perennial problems as a dog owner, is what to do with your beloved pet when you go on holiday. You could, like one of my friends, put him on a plane and take him with you – but that often costs more than your own flight ticket, necessitates endless waiting around at both airports and continuous form filling. You could put him in a kennels. This is a responsibility. She handled her toddlers ...

Thoughts From An Irish Fan
Thoughts From An Irish Fan. St Petersburg April 2015. So having gotten past the Worldcon/Eurocon “singularity” that was August, I am back in work. In an effort to not go crazy after a month off I have begun looking at April 2015. There will be Eastercon and Eurocon. With Eastercon i will probably just travel for the Con, with a day each side for comfort. This requires no real planning. There is one direct flight from Dublin to Helsinki on Mondays and Fridays. so there are two options. 01/May/2015 Early t...
