Walleye are in more demand than all other gamefish in Ontario put together. They are a fun and easy fish to catch, especially here at Anishinabi Lodge. They are also thought by many fishermen and fisherwomen to be the best tasting fish on Earth. We have licensed boat caches on these lakes so only our guests are allowed to fish them. Black Bear hunting is a time honored tradition here at Anishinabi Lodge. David spent his life helping his dad prepare for the Black Bear hunt and continues the tradition with the knowledge and skills that produce a highly productive and enjoyable bear hunting experience. We are far enough west to be in a region where Cinnamon Black Bears and Chocolate Black Bears are available but they are not as common as the pitch-black American Black Bears. Map of Anishinabi Lake. 46 miles not counting islands. 1200 above sea level. Lake Trout, Northern Pike, Perch, Whitefish, Burbot. Lake Herring, Sucker, Chub, Dace. Surrounding lakes are boiling with unbelievable numbers of Walleyes but there are very few in Anishinabi Lake. Smallmouth Bass have moved into the area and are considered an invasive species. They can be found in good numbers down stream from Williams' Narrows. The population in Anishinabi Lake is growing fast they are getting big.

How to catch Walleye. In the north scented baits do not work as well as unscented or salted baits. Walleyes hit just about anything but the most popular are jigs with white twistertails or fuzzy-grub jigs in a natural worm or transparent green. In the spring or on overcast and rainy days the Walleyes will be feeding like crazy and hit everything. The weather is not always perfect for Walleyes.
