It's beenall over the news now, that a group of 33 miners frmo the mine San Jose are trapped in an underground shaft, 700m below surface. Funnily enough, this is where I lived last year. (Not in the mine, but in Copiapo.). They have now been trapped for nearly three weeks, underground, without sunlight. Mining experts expect that they will be there until Christmas. My name is Ophelia I work for an English Institute in Santiago.

For once and for all. I'm writing with some exciting news from abroad. I recently received word from AFS Argentina. That they have reviewed your application and have accepted you into their Year Program Summer/Fall Departure. So this is it. Lots of feelings inside of me, not quite sure how I feel. But for better or for worse, it looks like I will be stepping onto a plane to Miami (and then on to Buenos Aires) in 113 days, on July 28. Wow (deep breath.). But now we must pack up every piece.
