I only hold this title on weekends and holidays.). During the week I am relegated to Slave of the Grind. The transformation of thoughts into words. Friday, September 23, 2011. The power of words. Excuse me.*clears throat*. moves soapbox into position. Words have amazing power. When my 8 year old came home with a math worksheet we reviewed it like all parents do. Here is one of the math problems:. Explain how you know. Monday, September 1...

The transformation of thoughts into words. Monday, April 23, 2012. The Lie That Tells a Truth part 2. Sorry for the delay in the second part of my book review of The Lie That Tells a Truth by John Dufresne. We left off with understanding the purpose of a first draft. It's to not be perfect. It's to get the words out there and see where the story takes you. Now we're on to the Revision stage. The author states that "All writing is rewriting." He also gives two pieces of advice:. 1 Finish the story. Charac...

The transformation of thoughts into words. Monday, February 13, 2012. Hi ho hi ho, it's off to edit I go. I thought writing my story was hard. Fun, but hard. Now it's time to edit. This is hard and I'm not sure it's fun. I haven't decided yet. It's a little masochistic because you take what you love, what poured out from you and then you look at it and call your own baby ugly. Write like there's no one reading. You can follow this blog via email or send an owl. Thursday, March 12, 2015. Barium Cobalt Einstein Koolaid! Obviously I haven't kept up with my one-word-a-day goal at all, so I'm changing the rule to this: I'll post a new word whenever I feel like it and only if I have the time. Hooyah! It's great to be an author! Which means they're even more noble and awesome. They have to literally. So the caffeine-junkie scientist's words are going to have to do. Next time he cheats.

Mystery writer on a hill, you'll die laughing. Jan 30, 2014. You Worry about Youself". Photo via Ryan Hunley from YouTube. As either a parent or a kid, at sometime in your life I'm betting you have either said or had said to you something comparable to one or more of the following:. If Jimmy jumped off a bridge would you follow him? I'm not Sally's mom. And that's when I had an aha moment and realized maybe I should be taking my own advice. As my day had worn on, I had hit a place where I felt overwhelme...
