http://wartburgid359.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 25, 2009. Well our journey has ended and I am still trying to recover from the jet lag as I readjust to life back in the industrialized world. I'm finding it is more difficult than I expected to explain our experience to my friends and family, but maybe it will get easier as I continue to process everything. Here's a brief summary of our last few days in Zanzibar:. Thanks for reading and commenting! Until next time, kwa heri Tanzania. Saturday, May 16, 2009. Abi you're almost there! It's been...

Emily's African Adventures: April 2009
http://wartburgid359.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 24, 2009. A few days from takeoff: Pre-trip thoughts. Everyone I've talked to who has been there has said that their trip there was one of the best experiences they have ever had, and I can't wait to see what this journey holds in store. That is more than the number of people who died on September 11th and more than the number of Americans who have died in Iraq since the beginning of the war. That's one person every 13 seconds! Emily's African Adventures: Thank goodness for Land Rovers, and people who can drive them

Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Thank goodness for Land Rovers, and people who can drive them. It's been a whirlwind of a few days, and unfortunately we have been disconnected from the internet so I haven't been able to share much, but I'll try to catch up. . When I chose the title for this blog, I didn't realize how fitting it would be. The adventures have been in high abundance, so I'll try to summarize them as well as I can. . Knock on wood) I'll continue to write as the internet access permits! I can't wait t...

Friday, May 1, 2009. Good news: We are in Tanzania, and all is well! We came back for dinner at 6:00, which was pasta, rice, beans, and papaya. We have had the rest of the evening free, with the exception of doing our Swahili homework for tomorrow. Wasn't expecting that! Probably should head to bed, it's after midnight here (4 PM there) and it'll be an early morning. May 2, 2009 at 5:56 AM. Hello Glad the first day has been great! We look forward to hearing from you soon. Love Mom and Dad.

Tomorrow will be another village visit, and Monday and Tuesday we are visiting Faraja, an AIDS relief organization. The days continue to fly by but we still have so much to do and see. Mpaka mara ijayo (until next time)! May 9, 2009 at 8:27 AM. May 9, 2009 at 8:39 AM. I am glad you left the chicken too! Hope you have a great weekend!

Emily's African Adventures: Winding roads, choirs, and cement
http://wartburgid359.blogspot.com/2009/05/winding-roads-choirs-and-cement.html
Friday, May 15, 2009. Winding roads, choirs, and cement. Another week has flown by! I can't believe it's already Friday! After lunch we came back to the Seminary and began a new task of constructing soccer nets for the goals here. Turns out this is actually a pretty big task. It's going to take another day of working on it, but I think we'll be able to leave them with a net in at least one of the goals, and hopefully the supplies and skills to build the second themselves. Emily's African Adventures: Where they welcome you like royalty
http://wartburgid359.blogspot.com/2009/05/where-they-welcome-you-like-royalty.html
Tuesday, May 5, 2009. Where they welcome you like royalty. Life is good in Tanzania. I can't believe we've been here six days already! The internet continues to give us problems, so I haven't been able to write as often as I would like, but I've been keeping a journal so I can update you on all we've done so far. There's a chance the internet access could improve so I could write more often, but if not I'll do the best I can. Hope all is well back home! Love and miss you all! May 5, 2009 at 7:34 AM.

Emily's African Adventures: A portrait only God could paint
http://wartburgid359.blogspot.com/2009/05/portrait-only-god-could-paint.html
Thursday, May 7, 2009. A portrait only God could paint. Africa continues to amaze. Every once in awhile I witness something so incredible that it's like God is trying to remind me just how great a mastermind He is. These last two days He has made that more clear than ever. If so they might be in for a surprise. Guess our team better start channeling our basketball roots. Tuesday at 5 PM is when it's going down. But there are many more exciting things to come, and hopefully more photos posted soon!
