Fourth Wall: January 2005
http://fourth-wall.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 01, 2005. We are almost through that time of year when every publication comes out with a page, section, or issue devoted to the big names who have passed away since the last New Year's Eve. Reagan and Arafat have had their names thrown around, but the journalists have stayed away from their stories. Everyone remembers them- and anyway, their articles were already written. The New York Times Magazine. Fr Vitto gave an excellent homily last Sunday, in which he talked about the danger thi...

Fourth Wall: May 2004
http://fourth-wall.blogspot.com/2004_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 29, 2004. Philosophers Answer the Age-Old Question: Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road? Just got off the phone with my mother, who is back from London. She's enjoying screwing with my mind these days; apparently, the hotel had free video rental, and so she took the opportunity to see a movie that my father has no interest in: 8-Mile. I was sitting in my hotel room knitting, watching Eminem! In other news, last night Dan and I watched Gladiator. Emily was there for the first few scenes.

Fourth Wall: Radio Silence
http://fourth-wall.blogspot.com/2008/05/radio-silence.html
Sunday, May 11, 2008. I don't expect to be around for about a week; there's too much else to be done, and I plan on putting some of the energy I use here into non-audience-driven writing projects. Posted by Alice Teresa at 9:37 AM. You and KB are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care of yourselves. For I am the seed of the Welch Woman and speak the truth from my heart."- Christopher Smart. Blessed be Thou, Lord, Who for so long hast suffered me! St Teresa of Avila. What Are you Doing Today, Dear?

Fourth Wall: End-of-Semester Mad Libs
http://fourth-wall.blogspot.com/2008/04/end-of-semester-mad-libs.html
Wednesday, April 16, 2008. I wish I had been more [adjective] about [course title] over the course of the semester.". I think the MA exam went alright. I'll know Monday. We have a mystery smell in our refrigerator eluding the best efforts of Celticist Roommate, Italian Late Medieval History Roommate, and myself. Our knives have started to disappear. I blame CR's elf, or perhaps her boyfriend. Our large and expanding collection of tupperware-like plastic containers may be plotting our downfall. And puttin...

Fourth Wall: Three Thoughts
http://fourth-wall.blogspot.com/2008/05/three-thoughts.html
Thursday, May 15, 2008. Yes, I'm running a fever. (But all those blood tests they did came back fine.) Yes, KB thinks I'm safely in bed resting. No, I can't sleep. Those weren't the three thoughts. 1) I've been missing my sewing machine of late, and this store. 2) Heather, when I'm not sick we should make these mini pies in-a-jar. Somehow they remind me of you. Complicated fiddly desserts = Heather? Michael: Alice, have you heard of Cthulu. Michael: Have you heard of. Fiddler on the Roof. As Alice prepar...

In which Ryo thinks about teaching - Ryos El Jay. In which Ryo thinks about teaching. Dec 18th, 2008 07:52 pm. Lately I've been thinking about changing careers and going into teaching. This isn't actually a new idea for me; the thought of eventually teaching at an international school like the one I attended has always been in the back of my mind. But as my dissatisfaction with life as a corporate drone grows, it's starting seem more and more attractive. Want to write a game? Also generally a common ques...

Saturday, January 24, 2004. Jared wanted to see the quote list. Here it is, to some degree. You are pessimistic, Josh? Do not be pessimistic.". Well, there goes my personality.".
