Sunday, 7 November 2010. 7th November - Mauritania, and into Senegal. By text at 13:49pm. Just about to reach the border and picking up a signal from Senegal over the river. We spent out first night in Mauritania exploring the capital's illegal drinking dens and night clubs, finishing the night at 1:30am with a camel kebab. Wednesday, 10 November 2010. 10th November - The next day. The Radiator repair seems to be working okay - it has been fully tested by potholes this morning and doing better than the people. Friday, 12 November 2010. 12th November Senegal-Mali crossing. By text - 10:07am. At the Senegal-Mali border, my last border crossing, am still in our first hour here and seem to be making decent progress. Am making a study of truck art - there is a fashion for heavily customised fuel tanks, bumbers and cabs. Sunday, 14 November 2010. 14th November - To Bamako. By text - 12:02. Very good nights sleep - at 1400 feet, so much cooler than it has been. Then only 90 miles into Bamako. Rosie rode with me and it was a very scenic journey, through rural villages of smiling waving people, women with infeasibly large loads on their heads and babies on their backs.
