In May I moved into my first studio, a small, tall space with a lovely big window looking out through fine mature oak trees to the hills beyond. This was at Wainsgate Chapel. Which is situated on the hillside above Hebden Bridge. I am inspired by many mainly contemporary artists; a particular favourite being the Irish painter Hughie O’Donoghue. Coal Hills - acrylic and collage 2014. Here's a painting/collage that almost didn't see the light. In a moment when I didn't have a gesso'd board to use I made a mask painting on the back which I then put loosely in a frame. And there it stayed until I was getting ready for the Open Studios last Christmas and rediscovered it, none the worse being sent to the corner! Here are a few examples of my work, some old, some new. Two out of the four were sold from exhibitions at ArtsMIll, Hebden Bridge.

Since moving in around May time I've wanted to alter the space and the work is now well under way. Here's a photo' of the raised floor which will be my messy area. The front will be my little gallery space. I am so pleased to announce that I'm in the process of moving into my new studio with my very own shop window! I am focused on portraying a quality of light; solid objects emerge out of layers of paint then at times fade back in. After several years of working very happily as Casting Director and Entertainment Producer with Openwide International, one of the largest entertainment consultancy companies in the leisure entertainment area, I took the decision to open myself up to even greater opportunities as a freelance Casting Director and Entertainment Consultant.
