The Nature of Things (Rachel's Reflections). Saturday, June 14, 2008. Freshman 15" for a doctoral student? I equate a first year doctoral student to a freshman undergrad. Therefore, I've been fearful of the notorious "Freshman 15" (pounds) the typical student gains. However, putting aside the jellyfish from the Co-op and cappuccino from Java City, it's doubtful I'll fall victim to a growing girth, considering my dining experiences the first two weeks in Indiana. Was passable, but the chicken Makhani.

The Nature of Things (Rachel's Reflections). Wednesday, July 2, 2008. This aspect of our course! The Tech and Literacy presentations were my favorite part of the first session. It was so insightful to have an opportunity to watch everyone present his/her research. The material was informative and many of the presentations so engaging. I really got an in depth. It seems to me that teaching with technology is not simply the addition of a tool to the traditional classroom work. Nor is it enough to say, we only should use a technology if it helps us achieve our traditional composition teaching goals. Because I believe that technology changes what our goals for teaching are and what those goals should be.

Roberta Foizey's Reflective Blog. Monday, June 9, 2008. From a small liberal arts university has been a bit of an adjustment. Finding buildings, for example, is a skill I lived without until June 1. The Co-Op, too, is an actual retail establishment, compared to the small, four-walled cubby. Where two types of t-shirts and a mug constitute. The "merchandise" section of the store. Beyond the spacial experiences, I'm developing a deep, however affectionate, resentment for my fellow students who stay near IUP.

The Nature of Things (Rachel's Reflections). Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Getting pulled over.on my bike? I really try to be a good citizen. I cross at crosswalks and never cross against the light. I pay my taxes, albeit on the 15 th. Of April, at midnight. I help little old ladies get their cats out of trees. So, I have to admit, it was more than a little humiliating. When an Indiana City police officer pulled me over while I was riding my bicycle.and yes, I had a helmet on. Anna's Adventures in Pennsylvania.
