http://naturedad.blogspot.com/2009/07/vegetable-garden-day-77.html
Chronicles of the great outdoors with family and friends. Saturday, July 11, 2009. Vegetable Garden: Day 79 - starting to harvest. The garden appears to be thriving pretty nicely although we've been getting a lot of rain and overcast weather these last few weeks. According to my seed packets, these are the listed " Days to Harvest. I also fear there isn't much hope for the cantaloupe either given they both still seem pretty small and far from producing. Chronicles of the great outdoors with family and friends. Sunday, April 26, 2009. Raised bed completed, seeds in the ground! I needed about 7 cubic feet of quality soil so I shopped around for any good deals. I found out that Lowes was selling 1.5 cubic feet bags of Miracle Gro Organic Choice for $4.97 (regularly $6.47) so I picked up two bags along with 3 cubic feet of Timberline top soil ($1.19 ea) and a cubic foot of Timberline potting soil ($2.22). After this we layered in the bags of soil. From ...

nature dad: Fall garden progress - Oct 16th (48 days)
http://naturedad.blogspot.com/2009/10/fall-garden-progress-oct-16th.html
Chronicles of the great outdoors with family and friends. Friday, October 16, 2009. Fall garden progress - Oct 16th (48 days). By Oct 16th our garden was looking pretty healthy. I also finally constructed a 5' tall nylon net trellis on the northern end of the bed (per the Square Foot Gardening book's instructions). The pumpkin in the front northern corner is looking like it may actually amount to something. The squash in the northern back corner is also looking pretty good. February 16, 2013 at 10:54 PM.

Chronicles of the great outdoors with family and friends. Sunday, August 30, 2009. Fall Garden: Preparing and Seeding. Well we couldn't wait any longer so we started our Fall garden today (August 30th). This time around I decided to apply more of the Square Foot Gardening techniques I've been reading about. Since our raised bed was already approximately 3' x 4' (12 square feet) and the right recommended depth (6 - 7") we were basically all ready to try it out. Then we built a square foot grid by stringin...

nature dad: June 2009
http://naturedad.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Chronicles of the great outdoors with family and friends. Saturday, June 13, 2009. Vegeatble Garden: Day 50. Here are some pics of the garden 50 days after sowing the seeds. I've replaced the free county mulch with some pine bark mulch that was left over from some flower beds my wife and I started. The good news is that I've been a lot better at keeping the leaves dry and the pests and fungus problems have gone away for now. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. nature dad: Goodbye to our summer garden
http://naturedad.blogspot.com/2009/08/goodbye-to-our-summer-garden.html
Chronicles of the great outdoors with family and friends. Monday, August 17, 2009. Goodbye to our summer garden. Well as it turned out we had a tasty harvest of cowpeas for about a week starting on Day 82 (July 15th). Then about a week-and-a-half later the okra began to flower and sprout. The flowers were a beautiful yellow but would only last a single day before wilting and dying and making room for a new okra bloom. Okra: 57 (ours started at 94, 27 days late). Cantaloupe: 90 (euthanized around 100).
