Year, I’m reminded of several things, which I hope inspire you with a little food for thought:. Watching trees dance in the wind reminds me that it is possible to be rooted and stable, yet flexible. Playful movement in Joy. September 19, 2013. I’m excited to be doing another Nia session at the Common Ground Fair this Saturday, at 10:00am. The focus for that demonstration, as well as Nia class on Tuesday in Unity this week, will be on centering. Here’s one way of thinking about the body’s center: “the physical center of the body, from which support comes. Moving through center keeps the body balanced and supported”. What better than finding a way to be more connected to earth, balanced, and supported?

Playful movement in Joy. I’ve been dancing Nia since 2003, when a friend of mine introduced me to Nia at a jam – a class with several teachers taking turns. I loved the experience, and kept coming back for more. I reached a point where I wanted to do Nia when there weren’t classes offered and when I traveled, so I decided to take the Nia white belt training in June 2007. July 26, 2011 at 9:10 pm.
