Thursday, 26 February 2015. Today we looked at the ‘Sampler Maps’ and Alfred Wallis images from the Tate Folk Art exhibition. We used these starting points to begin to create ideas for our own ‘maps’. We researched Alfred Wallis further, and also Adrian Berg. Monday, 29 June 2015. Today we went into the centre of Holmfirth to practise our drawing skills. There was lots of activity so we had plenty of opportunities to experiment with our fast drawing skills! And then when we were worn out from ‘speed-sketching’, there were gentler flowers and buildings to draw. Although it was dry, there was a wind, which meant very cold fingers by the end of the session. Time for a cup of tea in a café…. At the bottom of the post are students homework sketches.

Annas Art and Design. Monday, March 30, 2009. Buddha in the Beads - a mult-method enterprise. This past week I spent with some real detail work! First I painted a wooden frame with acrylic paint. Then I added a few "3D effects" shapes that I had cast in epoxy. In the upper right corner is a dome shaped piece with an encapsulated Swarovski crystal. the upper left has a face cast in clear but painted blue. Mid-left is another dome with Delica beads cast inside. In the top I added tulle and a pearl ribbon.
