Mud and Sunshine: And the name is...
http://mudandsunshine.blogspot.com/2009/03/and-name-is.html
And the name is. We beat our self-set deadline of picking a name for our little boy by April 1, and. Decided this past weekend. We have tossed around so many names it's dizzying, but we've finally settled on a name we both like: Jack. On his birth certificate, our little guy's official name will be John Stephen Phillips. My husband wants him to have a "proper" name on his birth certificate (as Jack is a nickname for John), and an option to go by John later on in life if he likes. April 4, 2009 at 9:35 AM.

Sometimes in the midst of life, I forget. Three poopy diapers and a crazy day of deadlines and worrying about family photos turning out and cleaning my house frantically kind of rolled in a like a fog today. It's days like these at a frenetic pace that I feel trapped, as if I need to take a step back and really. See life. And then life comes into focus again when, for example, my little munchkin falls asleep on my lap, and I take a bit of time to reflect. And I think: Really, what am I doing? I highly re...

Since my goal is to make one baby book for each child (equal rights! I decided to finish his scrapbook before our new little one arrives in early June (at which point I think I will be thankful just to shower and survive each day—and make sure my children do the same). In the process, I hope to also get at least a little bit caught up on my family albums. So here's to finishing Jack's baby book and getting ready to open a cute new book for a brand-new little boy! About a month ago, Jack made his big move. We had been waiting for it for some time. We expected it to happen around 12 months, because he was on time with crawling, and early with teeth and some other developmental markers. So we figured walking would be right on "schedule" (wherever the schedule comes from). He had a little walker wagon that he loved. We encouraged him a great. So now I think I can officially say that I have a walker. And a toddler. Welcome to the world of walking, little Jack! Daily B...

The year of 2. It may be two whole months into 2011, but here I am (umm, better late than never? I haven't posted in a while for no particular reason—just life in general gets busy and blogging hits the very bottom rung of the priority ladder. Being 2 means making the leap from the church nursery to Sunday school. Also crazy. We were pretty concerned about this because 1) he doesn't talk in sentences yet, and 2) he liked to eat crayons. But recently he learned the word Bible. The sweetest part of this 20...

I just got a new story book,. And a new shirt for a brand-new look. Because I'm happy to say. My little sibling is on the way! All three of us are looking forward to welcoming a precious little one next June (although Jack tends to think the baby is in his. Tummy from time to time). We are beyond thankful to God for this tiny, beautiful miracle; we couldn't feel more blessed! Now begins the guessing game.boy or girl? My husband thinks girl. I have no clue. We shall see! We were thrilled today to see the youngest member of our family kicking playfully on the ultrasound monitor. It was beyond a delight to watch our second son's heart beat, see small arms move up to his precious face, glimpse his sweet little profile, watch tiny fingers and toes wiggle—and to discover he is a boy (all 8 ounces of him—not surprisingly, a little bigger than the average baby at this stage). I can't help but imagine what he'll be like (I do hope for a good sleeper like Jack! Big T and Little S.

Now that we've found out our second child's gender, we have begun in earnest to search for his name. (Well, not every day in earnest. There are other things, like work, and dishes, and toddler snuggles, and prepping the nursery, which take plenty of time.) Like with our last little guy, this is not an easy process. For us, although we did of course finally settle on a name we now love. If you'd like to throw in your two cents, please vote at the poll. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Creat...
