But, things don't always go as planned. Instead of my girls, my son was the one who wanted to read this one over and over. Water in the Park. First,...

What the Wild Things Read: July 2014

http://annehawk.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

What the Wild Things Read. We may not brush our hair, change out of our pajamas, or sit down at the dining table, but we always make time to read. Tuesday, July 22, 2014. When Ben and I first embarked on our foray into chapter books, I expressed my excitement about sharing Charlotte's Web. Then Charlotte died. Like I said, I knew it was coming - but I still cried. A genuine tear slid down my cheek. Ben noticed and we had the following exchange:. Ben: Mom, why did Charlotte die? Me: Because it was her time.

What the Wild Things Read: Happy Spring/Happy Easter!

http://annehawk.blogspot.com/2015/03/happy-springhappy-easter.html

What the Wild Things Read. We may not brush our hair, change out of our pajamas, or sit down at the dining table, but we always make time to read. Monday, March 30, 2015. Other than the terrible allergies that come with Spring, I love everything about the idea of the season - new life, beautiful flowers, bunnies and chicks - everything just seems so fresh and happy. Easter is also one of my favorite holidays (I know, I have so many favorites! Getting all the craft supplies organized for 109 pre-schoolers!

What the Wild Things Read: August 2014

http://annehawk.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

What the Wild Things Read. We may not brush our hair, change out of our pajamas, or sit down at the dining table, but we always make time to read. Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Santa vs. The Penguins. We have an on-going interest in our house in the North and South Poles. Ben likes to look at maps and ask about where Santa lives and whether it is colder or warmer than where the penguins live. So, I decided to get us a bit more focused on learning about what's going on at the ends of the Earth. The Polar Bear...

Razzle's Travels: November 2007

http://razzlestravels.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

All you need to know about where to go! Restaurant, hotel and spa reviews. Friday, November 2, 2007. Comfort Food in Boston - Silvertone. Hidden on a side street in downtown crossing is Silvertone. It's a bar with great food, and good drinks. Really, you can't go wrong. Cocktails are in the $6 - $8 range, and beer on tap is $4. Food runs from $4 - 18 at dinner time, with the majority under $12. It's kinda like that hidden dive bar, but with the law school in the area, it's usually got a good size crowd.

All you need to know about where to go! Restaurant, hotel and spa reviews. Sunday, August 31, 2008. Fe's Bed and Breakfast - Tule Lake, CA. On a road trip from Central Oregon to Carson City, NV we decided to spend the night midway which landed us in the border town of Tule Lake, CA. We decided to stay at Fe's B&B. And couldn't have chosen a more hospitable place. Home fries, coffee, orange juice, and fresh fruit bowls. Tule Lake, CA 96134. Labels: Bed and Breakfast. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Razzle's Travels: May 2009

http://razzlestravels.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

All you need to know about where to go! Restaurant, hotel and spa reviews. Friday, May 15, 2009. Chow SF - Home cooking in the Castro. Last night I met a good friend for dinner in the Castro. My default comfort food spot there is Home, which is conveniently across Market from Chow, but he insisted on Chow. Which led me to believe there is a hot waiter there or just a better gay scene. But as this is the city and competition is stiffer I'd hoped for a better result. I was not disappointed. I got the choco...

All you need to know about where to go! Restaurant, hotel and spa reviews. Saturday, April 5, 2008. Salt House - San Francisco. Opened a while back, but I finally had a chance to grab lunch there this week. I am a huge fan of Town Hall, the partner's other restaurant a couple blocks away and have eaten many a satisfied meal there. I arrived very late for lunch, so my friends had already eaten bunches of oysters, and 3 dishes of thier pickled vegetables. Apparently those were quite good! Despite being ful...

Razzle's Travels: Papalote - Crushing Bobby Flay's Gringo Burrito

http://razzlestravels.blogspot.com/2010/03/papalote-crushing-bobby-flays-gingo.html

All you need to know about where to go! Restaurant, hotel and spa reviews. Friday, March 5, 2010. Papalote - Crushing Bobby Flay's Gringo Burrito. I don't usually take food advice from Bobby Flay, but after watching Throwdown. On Monday night I had to go to Papalote. The burrito they made on the show made my mouth water. Bobby's made me laugh, it was not a burrito. And certainly not by Mission standards. Ah yes, seems that the exposure did them well. I got a carne asada super burrito. The salsa was what ...

All you need to know about where to go! Restaurant, hotel and spa reviews. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Huynh - Vietnamese in the Creek. I've been craving decent Vietnamese food for the past few months, ever since reading A Cook's Tour for bookclub. That was the only chapter that literally had me salivating. So after having disappointing Vietnamese in Oregon, a post for a later time, I was glad to be back in the Bay Area where my all time favorite, Tu Lan, resides. My companion ordered the chicken curr...

All you need to know about where to go! Restaurant, hotel and spa reviews. Sunday, July 20, 2008. Hilton Portland - My default hotel. When I need to stay in downtown Portland on the cheap I go to Priceline and bid on a 3 star hotel. I have yet to get anywhere but the Hilton. Usually hovering somewhere around $110 a night, this weekend I hit the jackpot and got it for $64 (going rate was $149 at the hotel). It is an older hotel, decor wise, but very centrally located and I can walk anywhere downtown or in...

All you need to know about where to go! Restaurant, hotel and spa reviews. Sunday, February 28, 2010. Rick and Ann's - Home Cookin' Done Right. I cannot believe I've never written about my most favorite East Bay restaurant, Rick and Ann's. Tucked away on a small street in the Oakland Hills, next to the Claremont Resort and Sp. You can easily miss it if you are driving by. You can find me here fairly often, maybe that's why I don't want you to know about it, because it is amazing! Secondly, the potato pan...

All you need to know about where to go! Restaurant, hotel and spa reviews. Saturday, March 6, 2010. Dynamo Coffee and Donuts - San Francisco. With a name like Dynamo. I expected donuts with a punch or a kick. This is a little storefront in the Mission, just grab and go. No seating, no milling about. Next time, I need to remember to get there earlier in the day, while they still have bacon donuts. San Francisco, CA 94110-4263. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Drop me a line!
