The Rhino and the Poacher. September 3, 2013. Despite an incredible and exciting trip to South Africa, the purpose of our being there was never too far from the front of our mind’s. This was especially brought to light a week and a half into our trip (18th August 2013) when a lone bull Rhino, 1 of only 11 at a brother project, Tshipise (pronounced Chip-ease), specialising in Elephants and Rhino’s, was brutally killed and mauled by a poacher simply for the sake of it’s horn, see image below.
