The Edge of Sanity: PA Adventure - Day 6
http://heather-ivey.blogspot.com/2015/08/pa-adventure-day-6.html
The Edge of Sanity. Thursday, August 6, 2015. PA Adventure - Day 6. She pulled out the map and I gave her the information. Do you know where he was buried. Right where I gave up! I should have had faith in the feelings that I was having. Even Donna said, "that is right where you gave up, I saw you leave that area." There's lots of applications to apply that experience to in my life. Continuing on in faith when you've been guided by the spirit- not talking yourself out of promptings. Its In the Air. That'...

The Edge of Sanity: March 2015
http://heather-ivey.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
The Edge of Sanity. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. I've been thinking about fear lately. What is one phrase that can strike fear into the hearts of those pondering the path of a disciple? Of him shall be much. And to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more." Luke 12:48. For of him unto whom. D and C 82:3. What do you do when you are afraid to sin against the greater light? The belief is confirmed. Behold, O Lord, thou canst do this. We know that thou art able to show forth great power, ...

The Edge of Sanity: September 2014
http://heather-ivey.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
The Edge of Sanity. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. What gets mentioned at the women's meeting? Sister Neill F Marriott talked about the gift she was giving the Savior for Christmas this year - memorizing "The Living Christ." Well, if that's not further light and knowledge, I don't know what is. My companion got right on finding ways to help the kids memorize it by Christmas and we've got just under 12 weeks to do it (there are ideas on the web). What does this all have to do with the sky, you say? The inst...

The Edge of Sanity: February 2015
http://heather-ivey.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
The Edge of Sanity. Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Ethan broke his 4th metacarpal 6 weeks ago. Yesterday was finally the day to take the cast off. Ethan had been fretting about how it would feel and smell and if he could move it and it someone would hurt it. When I came up the stairs after seminary to check on his progress for getting ready to leave for the appointment, I was greeted with this note:. Why I should Not. My hand will be sore. My hand will look and smell horrible. What do you do when you have...

Being Here Is Half the Fun: May 2011
http://beinghereishalfthefun.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Being Here Is Half the Fun. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. And the first big project in the "new" house has begun. Here is our stain comparison. Can you guess what's going to happen here? We're building custom bookshelves in the bedroom (happy happy dance of joy)! Can I tell you how NOT fun it is to try and paint a ceiling, times 3 because it's not FLAT! Luckily, I just had to hold the light and reload the paint roller, as the Alien is taller than me! And here's the first glimpse of the new color! We're having a...

Being Here Is Half the Fun: April 2012
http://beinghereishalfthefun.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Being Here Is Half the Fun. Saturday, April 28, 2012. We love bananas. We love BANANAS! After reading a few recipes/blogs/etc. I ended up with a dilute solution of lemon juice and Tang (out of OJ and not going to the store at that point) We dipped 'em and dried 'em, and the house smelled LOVELY all day long. One set of bananas got too dark (Dolly still ate them) and the others were still gummy, but not grayish. They sure tasted citrusy, though. A qualified success! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Being Here Is Half the Fun: Part 1:The Caveman Cometh...Out the Other Side of Turmoil

Being Here Is Half the Fun. Thursday, October 18, 2012. Part 1:The Caveman Cometh.Out the Other Side of Turmoil. My Caveman is now ten years old. He is a uniquely wonderful and amazing creature, and sometimes I think he should be in the zoo, either for everyone to marvel at the marvelous critter he is, or to control his goofiness and give me a break! He can be a little overwhelming for age-mates. By John Elder Robison. Also Autism Everyday. And Pretending to Be Normal. October 19, 2012 at 12:54 AM. Odds ...

The Edge of Sanity: Inventive Problem Solving
http://heather-ivey.blogspot.com/2015/08/inventive-problem-solving.html
The Edge of Sanity. Friday, August 7, 2015. What do you do when your husband won’t let you get a ceiling mount projection screen for your formal dining room because he claims that it’s too over the top? Psh, as if! Well, you make one yourself that is magnetized and can just be thrown up over your other one! Having to erase (stuff I still needed on the board) before you could project was a major issue that I wasn’t willing to live with for another year. Problem solved -on the cheap! After I determined the...

Being Here Is Half the Fun: June 2011

Being Here Is Half the Fun. Thursday, June 16, 2011. A Brief List of "Do"s and "Don'ts" for a Successful Cub Scout Day Camp. Here are a few observations from our week (so far) of Cub Scout Day Camp here in the wild woods of the Illinois suburbs with the Caveman. Pack multiple sets of rain gear on a stormy day, just in case some kid in your den doesn't have any. Hand the only adult size. Set to a kid in another. Person in camp who wasn't prepared. Teach your child to read directions carefully.
