From Burnage to Bodrum. August 12, 2015. August 12, 2015. May 26, 2014. We were stopped by police three times! First time ever. Twice for document checks and once for speeding! Lots of horses and carts on the road, but still very European dress, apart from the old ladies of course. It seems they like their gambling. Every other building was a casino. From Burnage to Bodrum. October 26, 2013. So much for that theory. We get everywhere! After a quick swim , a drink, and a shower in a beach cabin we hit the road again, heading for Kozani for the night. We drove through one of the many underground tunnels and came out into cloud! It was the first absence of cloudless blue sky in over a month! We asked if he served food, which he did not, but he pointed to further up the mountain and was saying we could get food there. I am interested in a systematic approach to painting and design that combines function and beauty. I view my hanging grids as three-dimensional paintings with the individual pipe cleaners providing lineation, repetition and mediated elements of color. Pipe cleaners are exceptionally lightweight and tactically inviting, yet they withstand gravity and provide a hidden strength and functionality that allows for limitless innovations with form, scale and the poetics of space.
