A producer and director in a wide range of factual programming. I have produced and directed many high profile, one hour documentaries for the major broadcasters. I work in specialist factual, observational documentary and drama documentary. Tiger Traffic, an investigation into tiger poaching for This World, BBC (Executive Producer). Ann Hawker is a writer and film maker. After reading History at Oxford University she spent many years directing documentary films for broadcast on television. Documentary highlights include Too Scared for School, a fifty minute documentary about bullying in schools for ITV, a Cutting Edge about Au Pairs for Channel 4 and a revealing biography of Princess Margaret.

The Bench, a short stage play was performed at Theatre 503 in March 2015. My pilot TV series Chutney and series treatment is now finished and out in the big wide world. Good luck to it! Chutney was selected for one of the hotly contested script mentoring labs at LSF 2014, with script guru Philip Shelley. Mine is Yours was a finalist in the New Dramatists' Club 2014, run by Kitson Management. My feature film Mine is Yours was a finalist in The New York screenwriting competition 2014.

My writing has developed from my work as a documentary producer. I have an irresistible desire to tell people's stories. Sometimes the real emotional truth behind events can only be fully revealed through drama. As a writer I try to give my work a sharp edged humour and make it fully relevant to today's audience. Currently in development are Chutney - a script for a six part television series and Mine is Yours a Feature Film script. The Bench, a short play was recently performed at Theatre 503.
