Last weekend saw Fitzgerald’s Park in Cork City taken over by street performers and a whole host of traditional games from around the world. The event was sponsored by Laya Healthcare and I have to say fair play to them, it was a great event and fun for kids of all ages and sizes. German American from Bruges. The Colonsay Whale – meticulous mick

July 28, 2015. October 17, 2016. That’s right there is a whale on Colonsay. It lies just a few metres from the shore, besides the track to Balnahard. This is a wonderful open air art installation that is being built by visitors and we had to add our weight to the ‘sculpture’. An artist mapped out the framework of the whale using local stones and the public have been asked to help complete the installation by filling in the gaps, of which there are still plenty. Enthralled visitors to Fitzgerald Park in Cork City, for many life in the park just continued as normal; the metallic spheres continued to attract attention while the moorhens on the pond had hungry mouths to feed.
