The Snug Bungalow: June 2014
http://thesnugbungalow.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 27, 2014. Let's just assume that I never watched Golden Girls as it originally aired, when I was a kid. Let's just assume I just started watching it for the first time, ever. Let's maybe say that I have become somewhat obsessed with it. Perhaps even maybe I've started referring to Blanche, Dorothy, Sophia and Rose as if they were my awesome lady friends. Crazy, right? Welcome to my world. Miami, Florida.pastels everywhere.bamboo furniture. Ahhh.yes. The white feather earrings are from the 50...

The Snug Bungalow: September 2014
http://thesnugbungalow.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 28, 2014. A few weeks ago we went to two estate sales being held by the same company. We especially love this company for their great prices and excellent vintage offerings. The first sale was out of this world. The items had been owned by a seriously fashionable lady who had SEVEN pairs of gold shoes. I can't imagine having occasion to own more than one pair of gold shoes for any reason whatsoever. She had hats and purses and dresses that looked like they'd never been worn. The tiny bl...

The Snug Bungalow: April 2014
http://thesnugbungalow.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 29, 2014. I get one Friday a month off. I use it to work on Etsy projects and update my shop. In the "summer months" (I use that term very lightly here in upstate NY) I sometimes use that time to find things to stock the vintage area of my shop, as I did this Friday. Let me tell you how much I love that phrase. These glittery white snowballs which are probably millinery supplies are going to look HOT in some jadeite vases come Yuletide. The white bell in their midst might look like som...

The Snug Bungalow: May 2015
http://thesnugbungalow.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. I'm almost certain that this was the first time that the local community college held a garage sale style event in their parking lot. It was very small, only about 20 vendors and we had to pay (gasp! One whole dollar to park. When you see twenty tables set up in the midst of a huge and sprawling parking lot, you don't get overly excited. It looks wee. But, I did end up getting a few things, and it was full sun and 80 degrees by 9:30 am, so I'm not complaining! So, In Summary:. The h...

The Snug Bungalow: Stark Panic
http://thesnugbungalow.blogspot.com/2015/06/stark-panic.html
Saturday, June 13, 2015. It's June. That means summer in upstate NY is half over. HALF OVER ALREADY. I'm starting to have anxiety about winter already. It's like John Snow's favorite line is just playing on repeat in my head. Not to mention it's been raining so much I feel like gathering up two of each kind of dog and finding a Jewish dude with a big boat. They are even cheaper than yard sales. You WILL find things for a dime. Should I go down to the soda shop and get a malt for a nickel? So, In Summary:.

The Snug Bungalow: Ronald McDonald Sale #1 2015
http://thesnugbungalow.blogspot.com/2015/05/ronald-mcdonald-sale-1-2015.html
Friday, May 8, 2015. Ronald McDonald Sale #1 2015. The first RMD sale of the year was amazing. The usual crew got together, stood in line for an hour, and sallied forth. I try not to have too great of expectations for this sale. I never find a ton of stuff but what I do. Last year I was behind some people in line who I overheard say they were going to pants. I stuck to my usual plan and it payed off. Big time. Toys was first and a big strike out. No Muppets! The tragedy. Then onward to holiday! The scare...

The Snug Bungalow: October 2014
http://thesnugbungalow.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Welcoming The Creepy Season. We went to the Appleumpkin Festival again this year. Its been a while and some of our friends haven't ever been, so we went en mass. It was on my 11th anniversary with the husband. And it was 80 degrees. A wore a little black dress and little shoes with no socks! So all around, a wonderful day. For some reason. $4. I also found this (terribly expensive) amazing version of the Tooth Fairy. See his little bag of teeth? And his flask of fairy dust?

The Snug Bungalow: July 2014
http://thesnugbungalow.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 29, 2014. At the first sale I found an amazing deal. A jadite glass dish for $4! A little flower basket. I've never seen this one before, so it was pretty exciting. I also got a few vintage necklaces and a crazy chipped Christmas ornament. Another pair of gold earrings to help me work on my budding relationship. The second sale we went to started on Saturday! I mean, who wouldn't want a big bag of old, musty paper lanterns? Lanterns in every room! Members of our party into buying more.

The Snug Bungalow: April 2015
http://thesnugbungalow.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 11, 2015. Can you call it "the blues" if you've got it from not ever seeing blue sky? Shouldn't it be called "the grays"? I guess I'm treading in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Teritory, here. But, honestly. It's gotten so bad that in a brief moment of real sunshine, I see it glinting off a car and want to call attention to it. Like some child seeing a bird for the first time. "Look! It's getting ugly desperate up in here. I can't wait to wear them. Blanche, Dorothy, Rose and Sophia are goin...

The Snug Bungalow: June 2015
http://thesnugbungalow.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 29, 2015. That makes my mouth water. If you were to go to Target #righthisveryminute and purchase some stupid pair of earrings, it would cost AT LEAST $8. Whereas these earrings are all unique, vintage, and 30% off of $2. Face reality. I bought A LOT of jewelry. A bunch of stuff for myself, but almost even more fun, a bunch of stuff for presents! THE EXACT box I was looking for from my childhood! I also got the clear plastic one that is probably for fishing lures or bullets or something....
