I think in the future, it is quite possible that we will be able to replace the need for typical medical experiments using current scientific methodologies. Our personal devices - phones, fitbits, beds, walls, etc. will all track huge amounts of data about us one day. Being able to do this will massively speed up the rate of scientific advancement.
