So Little Time to Cut Back. So Little Time to Cut Back. Since deciding not to work the extra hours, I've started to look at how I spend my time during the day. I'm at work about 9 hours each day, and generally eat at my desk. Heck, I thought, I can reclaim almost an hour a day and still satisfy my patriotic duty of working a 40-hour week! The day that we got back into town from Mexico, we went to Mom's house so that we could see her sisters that were down here visiting, ViAnne, Johanna, and Clara.
