http://heatherwanderstheworld.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Heather wanders the world. Rio de Janerio, Brazil. We had a day and a half to spend in Rio and lots to cram in. On first impressions it wasn't quite how I thought it would be. It wasn't hot and sunny and it also stank of rubbish and port a loos outside on the streets! The statue was built in 1922 to mark 100 years since the independence from Portugal and Christ faces the sea to bless any visitors from the air or by ship. Southern Pantanal, Brazil. We did horse riding, a boat trip, pirahna fishing (I caug...

Heather wanders the world.: March 2013
http://heatherwanderstheworld.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Heather wanders the world. We are spending the Easter weekend in Medellin, a city in the Andes. When we first arrived the city was absolutely mental but today, Easter Sunday it was much calmer and we headed out with the truck and a guide for a bit of a tour. Beach time, Colombia. Los Llanos, Venezuela. Porto Colombia, Venezuela. Angel Falls, Venezuela. The good luck (more like bad luck) aloe that we were given this morning has been ditched already! Tomorrow to the beach. It was all going so well, I had t...

Heather wanders the world.: Mole National Park, Ghana.
http://heatherwanderstheworld.blogspot.com/2015/01/mole-national-park-ghana.html
Heather wanders the world. Mole National Park, Ghana. We had a day and a bit drive north to Mole National Park where we would spend the rest of the day, night and the following morning. Compared to going on safari in east Africa there us nothing really to see in Mole in terms of big animals with elephants being the main attraction. However a 2 hour safari is a fraction of the price of the safaris in the east. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Http:/ anthonydturner.blogspot.com/. Abidjan, Cote dIvoire.

Heather wanders the world.: Kumasi, Ghana.
http://heatherwanderstheworld.blogspot.com/2015/01/kumasi-ghana.html
Heather wanders the world. We bush camped the night before getting to Kumasi, with the aim of getting to the city in the morning and therefore only needing to spend one night there. The attraction in Kumasi is the market which is said to be one of the largest in Africa. A brief but good stop in Kumasi as we left to head towards the coast. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Heather wanders the world. Manatali, Mali. December 2014. 160; A great lazy Christmas in the sun. Boxing day had a late start as we headed towards Bamako, bush camping enroute. The Gambia, December 2014. 160; We arrived 6 hours later in the pitch black as the town was suffering from power cuts. We found somewhere to stay and had the longest wait for food yet- 2 hours! Saint Louis, Senegal. December 2014. There's not much to see in the city but I really enjoyed walk down the streets just having a look wh...

Heather wanders the world. Next on our route was our last camp in a town called Rosario which is apparently famous for being the birth place of Che Guevara. We arrived in Buenos Aires in time for a bit of a party. Kirsten had made a slide show and then we headed out for a nice group meal, a few drinks and I even managed to fit a helping of brownie and ice cream in at half midnight! Iguassu Falls, Argentina and Brazil. The 'W' trek, Chile. Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina. Galapogos Islands, Ecuador.

Heather wanders the world.: May 2013
http://heatherwanderstheworld.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Heather wanders the world. We had quite a short and scenic drive from Potosi to Uyuni arriving in time for an afternoon of relaxation before a full day touring the salt flats the following day. Another must do of Bolivia, I was looking forward to getting out for the day but I couldn't help but think all we were going to see was a lot of white salt! It was also Kirsten's birthday so we felt it was fit to celebrate with a day of eating food. Yum! La Paz, Bolivia. This morning we arrived at Puno on the shor...
