Anthony Meeks' fight to maintain his independence. Anthony “Tank” Meeks suffers from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He is paralyzed from the neck down, and requires a ventilator and feeding tube. In order to be able to stay at home, he must have 24 hour private nursing. Anthony’s Tenncare and private nurses were cut off on September 29, 2009. In Anthony’s case, TennCare covers the cost of his private in-home nurses. Why did Anthony lose his TennCare coverage?
