Our Vintage Villa: March 2016
http://ourvintagevilla.blogspot.com/2016/03
Renovation of a 1970 Mobile Home. Thursday, March 3, 2016. One year ago, on the day after Valentine's Day, I slipped going down my porch steps and broke my left ankle in three places. It's hard to believe that a year has gone by; this winter has been mild, and snow-free for the most part. It's always a wonder to me how the winters can differ to such an extent, but El Nino , I love you. (Sorry, no squiggle over the n). See My Little Land Yacht for that story.). Our Vintage Villa: In Comes the Arctic
http://ourvintagevilla.blogspot.com/2015/01/in-comes-arctic.html
Renovation of a 1970 Mobile Home. Wednesday, January 14, 2015. In Comes the Arctic. Here it is. The first days of real winter finally hitting. After such horrendous snow last year, we have had a really mild time of it this year, so far. The last two nights have been brutal; sub zero and windy. We had a nice time, got home and settled in for a quiet New Years Eve. We actually stayed awake until midnight. :-) All was well with our little world. Sohere we are. It came in at nine below zero last night...

Our Vintage Villa: Before: The Exterior
http://ourvintagevilla.blogspot.com/p/the-befores.html
Renovation of a 1970 Mobile Home. We purchased our "Villa" in October of this year, and it was a complete wreck. As I said earlier,. Our main goal was to just get it livable for the winter, which comes on fairly quickly and lasts for too many months here in the Northeast; Maine to be exact. We had to pick our battles for now. The from steps are solid, just needing a new coat of paint. All of the outside cosmetic painting we will save for the warm weather. Junk everywhere. Again, the deck is almost ne...

Our Vintage Villa: February 2015
http://ourvintagevilla.blogspot.com/2015/02
Renovation of a 1970 Mobile Home. Thursday, February 12, 2015. We have debated what kind of look that we want to go for as we go forward with our renovation. To me, since I grew up in the seventies, the time wasn't so bad, but the avocado green and gold I can live without. I have always been pretty conservative with wall colors and tend toward natural fiber colors (whited, off-whites) for most of my color schemes. I live in New England, so I love that eclectic 1700-1800's farm furniture look. I guess tha...

Our Vintage Villa: No More Snow!
http://ourvintagevilla.blogspot.com/2015/02/no-more-snow.html
Renovation of a 1970 Mobile Home. Friday, February 6, 2015. I guess that I am getting old and grumpy, but when the snow is up to my waist (and I'm not short) I am about done. I have been reading a lot of different blogs, trying to get ideas, to see what is appealing to people and I admit: I can get lost in it all and never get my own writing done. But oh.to go to worlds that are warm. :-) Bit by bit, I am adding links to blogs that I think others will enjoy. Labels: day to day. From the Sheep Shed.

Our Vintage Villa: Before: The Interior
http://ourvintagevilla.blogspot.com/p/before-interior.html
Renovation of a 1970 Mobile Home. As I said on the previous page, the place was a filthy mess from the previous owner, who left as much stuff behind as they took with them when they left. The first thing we had to do is get rid of the fleas before we even attempted to start removing things, especially the carpets. I had already removed the carpets and trashed items before I took the pictures, for the most part. Sub-floor turned out to be in good shape under the carpet. Lots of washing with bleach. Furnit...
