Infinite Deal of Nothing: Weekend in Ireland: Dublin & Cashel
http://infinitedealofnothing.blogspot.com/2014/10/weekend-in-ireland-dublin-cashel.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Weekend in Ireland: Dublin and Cashel. This last week we spent a long weekend in Ireland, getting a very quick introduction to the country. We arrived Friday night and spent our first full day exploring Dublin. We visited Trinity College to look around and see the library and the Book of Kells. This is just how a library ought to look. October 29, 2014 at 8:27 AM. The library at Trinity College is one of my dream destinations - thank you for posting a picture! West Coast Amer...

Infinite Deal of Nothing: War History Tour
http://infinitedealofnothing.blogspot.com/2014/11/war-history-tour.html
Friday, November 7, 2014. Camille has been studying World War I in school this year, which inspired us to visit some of the important sites and museums about that war. Our first stop was Passchendaele where they have reconstructed trenches on an original site. Anya realized the helmets were very heavy and not all that comfortable. All you need to do is add some lice, rats, standing water and winter temperatures and you can imagine how comfortable the soldiers were. November 8, 2014 at 8:42 AM. I cant ima...

Infinite Deal of Nothing: August 2014
http://infinitedealofnothing.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 31, 2014. Playing Tourist in Cambridge. The number one touristy thing to do in Cambridge is going punting. We've been saving it up for when we had visitors. Now that Mom and Dad are here we could finally try it out. Punts are flat boats, harder to tip over than a kayak or canoe, pushed along the river with a long pole. The one person who sometimes falls in is the punter, so we took a tour instead of trying it ourselves. Friday, August 29, 2014. This is the very table that Miss Austen used ...

Infinite Deal of Nothing: November 2013

Saturday, November 30, 2013. Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre. Once again, my girls weren't tempted by our outing, so Mike and I spent Friday at the Christmas market in Bury St. Edmunds while the girls were in school. I just love when Mike takes a day off work so we can do a little day trip by train. Bury St. Edmunds is such a cute town for exploring. I love the carless streets, little shops and pretty buildings. So gave up the street food in favor of an indoor, heated cafe. Mike in the assembly room.

Infinite Deal of Nothing: March 2014
http://infinitedealofnothing.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 29, 2014. The farm, being more of a tourist attraction than actual farm, is picture-perfect neat and clean. Besides the sheep, they had geese, ducks, pigs, bunnies, ponies, and horses. We love seeing the random red telephone booth out in the middle of the countryside. This is the view from our tractor pull ride from the farm to the main hall. Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Just a little outing to tide me over until I widen my horizons by learning to drive. Thursday, March 20, 2014. Now that the...

Infinite Deal of Nothing: October 2014
http://infinitedealofnothing.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Weekend in Ireland: Ring of Kerry. Camille is fond of photo-bombing. It was so hard to decide what to do for our last day in Ireland - so many choices! Excursions. It is such a pretty drive though. Weekend in Ireland: Dublin and Cashel. The rest of our day we spent shopping, wandering and eating. Dublin is a manageable size for exploring on foot with lots of shopping, restaurants and cute streets. Sunday, October 19, 2014. Fall Morning in Cambridge. Thursday, October 16, 2014.

Infinite Deal of Nothing: Cemeteries and Memorials
http://infinitedealofnothing.blogspot.com/2014/11/cemeteries-and-memorials.html
Friday, November 7, 2014. Outside Ypres lies one of the largest WWI cemeteries, Tyne Cot. I think of about 12,000 burials there, 8,000 or so are of unknown soldiers. World War I cemeteries seem to be scattered everywhere in the area, as most soldiers were buried near where they died instead of being placed in one large cemetery. I was interested to learn that WWI had units of bicyclists who carried machine guns. Every army had a cyclists division. November 8, 2014 at 8:46 AM. View my complete profile.

Infinite Deal of Nothing: May 2014
http://infinitedealofnothing.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 22, 2014. In Cambridge, I have two almost daily experiences that just make me smile to myself and wonder how it is possible that I can possibly get to live here. This picture was taken back last fall. It even has cows grazing along the way! My other moment of almost daily happiness is walking down streets like this to do my errands. I have a chore to do, like going to the market or the library, and this is how I get there! One time with Anya I was in the middle of a little rhapsody on the b...

Infinite Deal of Nothing: December 2013
http://infinitedealofnothing.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 28, 2013. Mike and I were lucky enough to have the use of a friend's car today, so took advantage to check out the medieval town of Lavenham. It was a prosperous wool town in the 13th and 14th centuries, and is still full of half-timbered buildings and old world charm. There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile. He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile. He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,. And they all lived together in a little crooked house.".

Infinite Deal of Nothing: Lille and Ypres
http://infinitedealofnothing.blogspot.com/2014/11/lille-and-ypres.html
Friday, November 7, 2014. For our last family European trip, we took the Eurostar to Lille, a city in northern France. We just spent one night, so only had time to walk some of the grand squares, do a little shopping and of course sample some French food. My favorite part of Lille was visiting the chocolate and sweet shop Meert. First, isn't it lovely? November 7, 2014 at 11:57 AM. What a beautiful sweet shop! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
